DAY 1
So I just started working in the service industry. I’m working in the deli in a grocery store, so basically cutting meat and serving food all day. Long shifts and it’s hot. I want to do something. I want to pay attention to the POSITIVE sides of the service industry so that I stay positive and it spreads a little bit of joy. I know that as I get into it more the honeymoon phase will wear off, but for now here we go!
I was learning how to use the slicers and this adorable couple were my first costumers on it and I was not doing great, stumbling over where their ham was and how to cut and how thick etc...and they were so gentle and so sweet to me while I was trying to learn. They told me I was doing a great job for my first day.
I was serving a middle aged man and I was cracking some jokes with him and we were laughing, and at the end he said “thank you hun have a lovely night” (but sweet not creepy). And man that was nice
I get to work with two middle aged/older ladies and they are just the sweetest, teaching me all of the things and making sure I’m where I need to be, as well as asking about my personal life and trying to get to know me. V positive and lovely women who are hard working role models too.
A pretty inked up guy said he liked my visible tattoo and made a couple comments about it and I was like !!!!! A pro likes it!
