Out of the darkness and into the light. This photograph was taken just under 3 years ago, as I nervously prepared for my first ever exhibition (post uni) not only did I have several Works In this exhibition, I also curated it and had a range of artists get involved. This was at a time where I had only just found the road to recovery with my own mental illness. Through doing the exhibition I was able to find some solace, and share my experiences through the only medium I know how. It wasn’t until now, 3 years later, that I realised just how significant this photograph was/is... Balancing on tiptoes, like being on a tightrope trying desperately to keep balance, through fear of falling back into the darkness. So much has happened since then too, which have both set me back and aided me in my recovery. Looking back has sparked so many thoughts and feelings, which has led me to the decision to work towards another exhibition. I’m not entirely sure when it will happen, but the film work has already begun for the next short film. My page will take a different approach to things from now on, as I feel stronger now about sharing my story and more personal contextualised works, and I look forward to sharing all future endeavours with you all. 🖤 #jennascuriocabinet #fineartist #norfolkartist #thevisualsgang #findyourflock #darkartists #mycreativecommunity #contemporaryfineart #mentalhealthrecovery #darkart #mentalhealthawareness #bpdrecovery (at Jenna's Curio Cabinet) https://www.instagram.com/p/B3KDY05HXBn/?igshid=vata8hzixus2
