Der Weg Einer Freiheit - Finesterre (2017)
Fantastic album by Der Weg Einer Freiheit.
Check out the summer sales for great Ethical Fashion Brands - a perfect time to invest in your wardrobe xx
When you read the blogs about ethical/eco wardrobes you will often hear that we should all be investing, buying better quality clothes, less frequently. These are great pieces of advice, but maybe hard to hear when we’re in a rush to buy something. Walking a different path from the “normal” can be challenging at first but what we need are good habits. I start with the sales and buying out of season - this is my top tip :) So with this in mind here are some suggestions from the sales just now - happy browsing!
The Florence Collarless Blouse - 100% cotton & shell buttons - £39 now (down from £75). Bibico sell online and have a shop in Bath.
What they say: We design beautiful easy-to-wear clothing made from quality natural & organic fabrics. Designed by Snow and made ethically by producers we know and trust.
The Lowie Tiger Print Josephina Dress - 100% cotton - now £49 (down from £149). Lowie design their own clothes & retail in London.
What they say: Started in 2002 by designer Bronwyn Lowenthal, Lowie’s philosophy is to produce beautiful clothing people want to wear as ethically as possible without jeopardising design. ‘We aim to pay our hand makers and small manufacturers a decent price, while small production runs ensure each piece is a limited edition’, says Lowenthal.
Finisterre Cribber Navy Stripe Jumper - 100% organic cotton - now £60 (down from £85).
What they say: Born over a decade ago from the needs of hardy British surfers, Finisterre designs functional and sustainable product for those that share a love of the sea...... Since day one we have taken a pioneering approach to making better and more sustainable product, challenging and innovating, seeking alternatives to what has gone before. We’re committed to making informed decisions about our impact on the environment and are constantly trying to push boundaries to make the best product we can. In our eyes this is gear that will be with you the longest; and the longer you have it, the more attached to it you become.
Nancy Dee Jessica Black Brush Stokes Print Dress - 95% Bamboo / 5% Elastane - now £43 (down from £72).
What they say: OUR FABRICS are mostly made from renewable natural sources such as bamboo & organic cotton. We also use Modal, an eco-friendly man-made material originating from beech wood. Some items are made using up-cycled material - often made in the UK - that would otherwise be consigned to land-fill.....Rather than fashion-fad, one-season wonders, Nancy Dee garments are designed to be long-wearing, versatile pieces that translate from day to night and season to season...... ALL NANCY DEE GARMENTS ARE MANUACTURED to the highest standard in Britain.
He visto reir a los sauces
llorar a las hienas
Flechazos a primera risa
divorcios a ciegas
He escuchado verdades a medias,
mentiras enteras,
secretos de cuarto
He buscado tres pies al perro,
aguantado un tiempo de gatos
He hablado con gente corriente,
He pecado de santo,
he creido en tu Dios,
He visto vidas en pena,
So this was Finesterre, I thought as I stepped out at the point. The end of the world. This is what people walked hundreds of kilometers for.
I really don't know why it is that all of us are so committed to the sea, except I think it's because in addition to the fact that the sea changes, and the light changes, and ships change, it's because we all came from the sea. And it is an interesting biological fact that all of us have in our veins the exact same percentage of salt in our blood that exists in the ocean, and, therefore, we have salt in our blood, in our sweat, in our tears. We are tied to the ocean. And when we go back to the sea - whether it is to sail or to watch it - we are going back from whence we came. [Remarks at the Dinner for the America's Cup Crews, September 14 1962] John F. Kennedy
