Collider - London Science Museum - Making of photos
With the exhibition now open and about to head off to it's first tour date I thought it would be interesting to share some behind the scenes photos taken on our 3 different visits to CERN where we were privileged to be allowed into the CMS and LHCb detector caverns and the control room for the LHC itself. We were also free to roam the large, bizarre and amazing Meyrin site which is the central hub of CERN.
In the course of these visits we photographed the Meyrin site extensively, especially the doors for the large format print in the exhibition. We also took 360 degree dome photographs of the control centre and the CMS detector. I will post some of these soon.
In the pictures you will see our excellent team comprised of the following:
Adam Young - Director of Animation
Carolyn Downing - Sound Designer
Pippa Nissen - Creative Director & Architect
Ash Fridd - Architect
Ben Walden - Camera Wrangler Extraordinaire
Dr Harry Cliff - Science Museum fellow and explainer of complicated things

Die Zauberflöte - The Magic Flute (by DeNederlandseOpera)
Die Zauberflöte's approach took the music as a starting point to explore the possibility that music itself has a transformative power on the listener, creating a magic in their ear as we created a visual magic on stage. We built scenes out of simple elements and twisted some elements to heighten their individual magic to create a very fluid and lucid world on stage
We used a series of broken projection surfaces that actors, signers, chorus and extras were constantly moving though. We could project from the front, the back and all over the floor.
