Day 26: Favorite clever Broadway rhyme
Satisfied - Hamilton, No Way - Six, Stupid With Love - Mean Girls, Another Terrible Day - The Lightning Thief
SLYTHERIN:
“More is always better, because when you have less, you have more to lose.”
--Nell Benjamin (Cady Heron: Mean Girls the Musical: More Is Better)
What your favorite O’Keefe or Benjamin musical says about you
Bat Boy: You have dipped into witchcraft before
Sarah Plain and Tall: You read the book in 4th grade then got to go see a community theatre performance of it, good for you
Legally Blonde: You love rom coms with strong female characters that you can watch while eating ice cream, or you know, Emmet 🥰
Heathers: You want to be edgy and dramatic, and you fantasize over murders
Mean Girls: You want to sing like Regina George, or you like Tina Fey
Any of their musicals: You like teen movies
Thanks @lordbyronbutworse for this suggestion
“Serious” is the second song in the 2007 Broadway musical Legally Blonde. With music and lyrics by Nell Benjamin (Mean Girls) and Laurence O'Keefe (Heathers), the book by Heather Hach was based on both the 2001 Amanda Brown novel and the 2001 movie, both of the same name. The show was nominated for seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical. This song is performed by Richard H. Blake (Saturday Night Fever) as Warner Huntington III and Laura Bell Bundy (Hairspray), who was nominated for a Tony for her performance as Elle Woods.
“And if I eat alone
From this moment on
That’s just what I’ll do
‘Cause I’d rather be me
I’d rather be me
I’d rather be me than be with you”
-Janis Sarkisian, I’d Rather Be Me, Mean Girls
