Depending on who buys the company, Mortal Kombat could be saved or doomed for good. Personally, I'm not getting my hopes up too much. We live in an era where huge corporations and greedy lobbies sabotage entire sections of popular culture (video games, movies, TV shows, and books) for their own vile profits, whether financial or ideological. Human beings always prefer to destroy whatever they touch anyway. It's easier and requires less effort than taking care of it or improving it.
