I love the idea that neither Finn nor Rey nor Rose know what a cool person is, but they all assume the other two are Just The Coolest WOW I Mean WOWO Look At These Cool Cats, so they’re all trying to impress each other very hard by studying and imitating each other until they’ve formed the kind of hive-mind memetic threesome in joke posse only possibly when everyone involved loves and respects the shit out of each other and also doesn’t spend enough time talking to other people, to the point where they can have a whole conversation literally incomprehensible to all over sentients because it’s entirely quotes from a conversation they had six months ago when Finn didn’t know how to eat Space Sushi. They inadvertently convince everyone else that this must be?? what the youths are into??? which is correct, Youth Culture is thinking your friends are the coolest while you are not and also falling into the type of all consuming obsessive love with each other and yourself only possible when everyone’s still hardcore figuring out who the fuck exactly they are and also there’s a war going on whoops we should deal with that war.
