y’all know Kiara is the perfect muse for this prompt, having that mane of curls. Not sure how much of this prompt I’ll finish but it’s an excuse to start using different brushes and workshopping a smoother rendering style.

The sun burnt a deep orange, filtered between a charcoal haze. I stood, staring at the distance, as flames licked the hillside. Ash sprinkled from the sky, dusting the ground at my feet.

It had been hours, now. And I only watched it grow closer.

Writing Prompt #980

Dressed in only in my bathrobe, hair still dripping water, I frowned up at the smoke pouring out of my house. It wasn’t my fault I didn’t know that you shouldn’t leave for a quick shower with food still cooking on the stove.

I was certainly not looking forward to the lecture coming from both the firemen and my mother once she got home.

Prompt #5

The walls started to crumble as the flames roared, engulfing everything in sight. Consuming the desks, the books, the whole room went up in flames. Black smoke started to clog up the airways of all the people that were trapped in the room. Screaming for help as the flames grew taller and became more menacing by the second. The burning walls didn't want to go away and started blocking the exits, enjoying the sight of each person choking on what it had produced and slowly the lively room, fell silent as each person started to drop to the floor, their eyes closing shut and their arms falling to their sides.

             Fire started to spread around them, dulling Silas’ senses to the point of making him nervous. Concern for his own life and Valerie’s had the immortal frantically glancing around in order to find some sort of opening in the raging flames. Fire was the only thing other than vervain that slowed him enough for someone to land a lethal blow and it made him uneasy. The heat wasn’t helping much either. Debris from the burning building rained around them, making it very hard for Silas to see properly and protect Val. He coughed into his sleeve and took his jacket off, wrapping it around Valerie and shouting at her to stay low until the flames died out and the smoke dissipated.
