GAME OVER

Trying something with perspective, ended up being somewhat of a spooky month piece. (Don’t end me tumblr)
"If the Mind is like a candle, the Heart is like the sun."
[Fire is passion, the bright, burning flame of raw emotion sweeping over everything. Those who follow the School of Fire, known as Pyromancers, are tempestuous, quick to anger, and consumed by whatever drives them at that moment.
[They tend to walk a fine line, having great passion and enthusiasm for one’s loves in life is good, but watch out! Passion can burn you up and consume you, leaving nothing but a charred husk of your former self.
[Pyromancers use Incantations to dominate and convince Fire creatures to do their bidding. Fire Magic traces its origins back to the fierce Fire Dragons, the race of Titans that ruled the land in the Days Before.]
I decided to take a quick break from working on my game to make some custom spells that summon Dyvim and his squadron of Burrowers to fight for you! This isn’t my entry for the Official Spell Contest, but I thought this would be fun to make.
Magic Leaking Out
Sometimes, the magic within Wizards will seep out without the Wizard casting any spells or actually using it. Most of the time this happens intentionally in a safe, controlled manner. When done on purpose, it's pretty harmless. However, sometimes the wizard will simply lose control of their magic, which is a lot less controlled and very dangerous to others.
The way the magic manifests itself when seeping out depends on the type of magic. How potent or deadly it is when the wizard loses control of it depends on how powerful the wizard is. Wizards of the same type of magic are resistant, but not immune, to the leaking magic of others of their school.
A wizard could lose control for a multitude of reasons, some of which include; not using their magic for a long period of time or an extremely strong or intense negative emotion, especially if said emotion was bottled up for a while or leaves the wizard vulnerable.
Storm magic, when seeping out, comes out as sparks down the Diviner's arms and legs. When they lose control, the air around them turns electric and bolts of electricity will randomly shoot out from them. If someone manages to get close enough to touch them, then they will be hit with a massive volt of electricity that either sends whoever touched the Diviner flying backwards or immediately collapse to the ground.
Fire magic, when seeping out, takes the form of smoke curling off the Pyromancer and the air around them heating up. When they lose control, the air turns scorching hot. Any liquid within the radius starts boiling. The ground under their feet becomes scorched. Anything flammable within the radius will either start smoking or full on catch fire. When they start to lose control from anger, smoke literally comes out of their ears.
Ice magic, when seeping out, can be seen in the Thaumaturges breath being visible, as well as the air around them cooling down. When they lose control, the air turns freezing. Any liquid within the radius almost instantly freezes over. Any surface around them, including the ground under them, will start being covered in frost and ice.
Myth magic, when seeping out, takes the form of an aura surrounding the entirety of the Conjurer. When they lose control, the aura turns sharp and blinding. Those that get too close get knocked out and are subject to horrible nightmares.
Life magic, when seeping out, causes little plants to sprout at the Theurgists feet and any nearby plants to blossom. When they lose control, thorny plants spring up all around them and other plants will lash out at anyone that gets too close.
Death magic, when seeping out, looks like fog collecting around the Necromancer's feet and coming out of their hands. When they lose control, the fog becomes highly toxic. It kills any plants, insects, or small animals it touches instantly and poisons any bigger animals or humans that breathe it in.
Balance magic, when seeping out, takes the form of a small dust cloud around the Sorcerer's feet. When they lose control, the dust cloud becomes bigger and rises from the ground, swirling around in wind that wasn't there before, becoming a dust devil.
Periods
Magic affects people's periods. Each school of magic affects it differently. Life and Death Wizards have it the worst out of all the schools. Balance Wizards have it the best.
Storm: They have short to medium length periods with medium to heavy flow. They have to deal with bloating and irritation.
Fire: They usually have a medium flow and it's usually lasts on the shorter side. They get emotional/pretty bad mood-swings, are pretty irritable, and have cramps.
Ice: They have long periods and tend to have light or medium flow. They have to deal with constant low to medium intensity cramps. They also have lower energy during their periods.
Myth: It's actually unknown if Myth magic affects periods. They have the whole spectrum of period symptoms, lengths, and flows.
Life: They have the longest periods. They also have a light flow. They aren't that physically painful, but they have high levels of all the mental and emotional PMS symptoms (such as mood-swings, cravings, irritation, etc.). So they have long but extremely emotional periods.
Death: They have the shortest periods. They also have a heavy flow. They don't have many mental/emotional symptoms but they have high levels of all the physical symptoms (such as cramps, nausea, cravings, bloating, etc.). So they have short but extremely painful periods.
Balance: They have medium flow and length periods. They can have anywhere from no symptoms to medium intensity symptoms.
Headcanon: Whenever they kill an enemy in the field, no matter who they were or what they'd done, a death wizard will always insist on giving them a proper burial. Or, if not that, then whatever they can manage. Other schools will scoff and call it a waste of time and sentimentality, but they don't understand death in the way a necromancer does. They don't understand that one can only truly be at peace when they're finally in the ground.
I’m thinking they only do that if they know the enemy well enough to know/predict what burial rites the enemy would want- it would be pretty bad to just do a typical burial if the enemy would rather have been laid to rest in a different manner. It WOULD be very intimidating for the necromancer to just idly ask “So, how would you like your funeral? It’d be pretty rude of me to disrespect your body unknowingly after I kill you.”
I think death wizards definitely have a bit more respect for the dead over the more goal oriented/living focused schools.
(also headcanon that fire wizards that have no preexisting religious/cultural beliefs would prefer cremation by magical fire.)
