Get to know me moment: For those who don’t know, I have been a Volunteer Firefighter for almost 9 yrs. Today I completed my annual recertification for my Red Card by completing the Pack Test. This involves caring 45 pounds while walking 3 miles, in 45 minutes. For most men and many women this may not be that difficult, but as I have more of a ballerina body type from my 23 years of dance, it’s always a relief when it is over. I posted this picture of my FF friends, and bestie @tracy_me_linda caring me this past summer during a calendar photo shoot that supports a Puppy rescue, @firerescuedogs @lifelinepuppyrescue Finishing the pack test today made me miss the camaraderie that we all shared prior to the virus. Fire heavily damaged a Green Township home Saturday night. Albion and Churubusco firefighters were initially called to the scene, and several other fire departments including Noble Township, LaOtto, Orange Township, Thorn Creek, and Cromwell brought in water tankers and manpower to assist. Fire in the unoccupied home was through the roof within minutes of it first being discovered, and firefighters were on scene for about five ours.
