(More Updooted!) Firefox and TOS

(original post) Sooo I'll be honest I'm only *just* learning about and thus reading about all this, but I thought I'd share it along because... seems important, ya'll. An IT buddy of mine tossed it over into my notice.

Remember when Adobe went all "hey btw u grant us access to all ur stuff when it's on x y z of our software blah blah" which threw up a whole slew of fun issues like artists and firms with NDA contracts and such and y'know AI training questions and speculation and generally a whole slew of "the fuck you mean, you're just gonna claim our content for your use?"

Well, Firefox apparently came out with a pretty.... vague-ish new Terms of Service that includes this lovely little vague gem in it:

Wow. That's pretty... Vague. Do they mean they're gonna claim the content to troll through with their data muncher programs when I upload the text of an original book through their browser, to a publishing website while working ot get my book printed?

Are they collecting the image data when I upload, through their browser, my artwork when I am posting cool shit on Tumblr?

Dunno! But I find it Vague. I'm still reading through the privacy policy, and it, took, is unsatisfactorially vague and... either they're lying or they are just really hecking bad at writing actually clear terms of service. The corporate glamour BS is so strong you need windex to clean that lacquered fake sunshine off.

My personal take at least -so far-, is that I'm sure glad I stopped using Firefox browser a good ass while ago. I sure as heck won't be using it anymore now.... not unless they get hella more clarifying about what they're doing because things don't smell right to me.

wanna stop using tumblr app but you are used to where is it on home screen or just want a quicker way to access it to browser?

I think not everyone are aware of this but you can easily make shortcuts to your home screen! Im using firefox browser or both android phone and ios tablet but somethung simmilar should work on different browsers (but also come on switch to firefox, what are you doing)

Finally! Firefox Is Getting a Kill Switch for Its (Unwanted) AI Features

Maybe this will bring back some of those lost users.

Mozilla Firefox version 148 which should be released on the 24th of February, 2026 should have an active AI (Machine Learning) kill (deactivation) switch. It is supposed to arrive in nightly testing releases in the next several days. It is, however, expect to have AI enabled by default.

I like the idea of using Firefox in theory, ESPECIALLY for its compatibility with extensions on mobile, but it's just slow enough to irritate me. I'm used to Chromium speeds, alas.

Now, I use Brave for most tasks, and Firefox when accessing bright websites on mobile.

If Chromium becomes extension-compatible on mobile, I will be a very happy bean.

I've been testing with some browsers again, yes, again, cos, my PC is getting older and older, and slower and slower~

so, I thought if there'll be a real suitable browser for my super old PC, wait, it's NOT that old in fact, I got it in 2019,

to my standard, it's not considered old!!! anything that's below 10 years of usage, is not OLD!!!!

anyway,

people said, firefox is best, but it hung on me once in a while, or, it'll freeze once in a while, and that, I'll have to wait,

though I'm so used to the extensions, and particularly the bookmark manager of chrome browser, I thought if they browser is fast and lightweight enough, I'll consider switching,

I started to use back MS edge again, ok, it's fine, however!!!!! it somehow, will freeze once in a while,

so, I'm back to using chrome browser again~

maybe it freezes too, once in a while, but I'm kinda used to the pattern of it freezing, and maybe it's psychological, I thought the "duration" for it to get out of the "freeze" is slightly shorter,

thus!!! I guess, I'll have to stick to chrome!!!

till I get a new PC, alright??
