After a massive fire outbreak in the Rohingya Refugee/FDMN camp on Sunday, March 5, 2023, over 2,805 shelters were demolished or damaged throughout 3 blocks and 45 sub-blocks, and 15,926 people were impacted by the tragedy. Our Integrated Nutrition Facility in Camp 11 completely burned down, and nothing could be salvaged but a few registration books. A fast endeavor was made to restore the services by the nutrition sector partners. The nutritional initiatives in camp 11 have already resumed with the assistance of our partners and stakeholders. Three tents were erected where the nutrition partner resume the nutrition services and other cross-cutting issues. In addition, hygiene kits, Dignity kits, Mosquito kits, cooking items, etc were distributed by relevant sectors. We appreciate the kind assistance and collaboration of all of our partners, other organizations, and sectors provided to our nutrition-implementing partner SHED in Camp 11. It cannot be handling this terrible fire event without effective cooperation from CS, CiC/RRC, UN agencies, and NGOs.
