⚡️;; Endless lines of code still streaked across his processes as Thundercracker settled into his favorite spot on the couch, wings wilted in defeat. It had been a very long and tense work cycle, pushing his code breaking abilities to their limits as he worked to fill in some of the final gaps in the city’s new security systems. With the project window coming to a close, the joor seemed to scream by, leaving him drained long after he was finally able to return home.
The only thing that made it better, somehow, was Firewall. Constantly her encouragements would fill his mind, encouraging him to push just the little bit more that he needed to get through the most difficult of times. It had been difficult adjusting to a new bond, a strange sensation that he had never even dreamed of sharing with another being again, but somehow, it felt right. They were so different from one another, but at the same time, shared a number of views and dreams for the future. Some, it seemed, were less likely than others, due to his own shortcomings, but she didn’t seem to mind all that much. In the end, they still tried; that was what mattered.
Mere moments after he had settled in, the door to their residence slid open, and the familiar form of his partner appeared just outside. “Hey, Firewall,” he greeted, his tired vocals betraying his attempts at remaining enthused. “Ah only just got in myself--long day, y’know. ...You had some appointments, right? How’d all that go? Er, uh... take yer time an’ get comfortable first, a’course, but yeah. How was your cycle?”
