Dad's Eyes

Those eyes, at times, have me scared

Though my father taught me never to be feared

His own eyes, grey or bell blue?

I don't know..? They bring my soul out into view

When he stares at my face for a bit too long

It makes me recount all my wrong(s)

Yet the only eyes I would look for at night

And possibly ever in case of fright

So exquisitely pretty yet so scary

I wouldn't ever tell him, he feels like a fairy

To me

And I wonder

If I inherited his eye colour, too

Would my eyes be so starkly blue?

If I try to remember...

I did, for a short while

it is true, I had dark gray

And thank God, I pray

They changed to pools of honey or brown

Don't know if I'll ever have someone drown

In them but

I guess god knew I couldn't bear

all the coldness

my dad's bore

So to keep him and myself warm

It is brown that I wear and wore.

(I don't write poems, this is one of my earliest attempts. I don't really know how to best express my self either, this is just a try. Hope you enjoyed though!)

If you could ask/bribe/convince people to read just one of your fics - not necessarily your best, not the one that you think summarizes your style, not even your favorite, but the one you want people to read the very most for whatever reason - which one would it be?

And if you feel comfortable, why that one?

Hmmmm...

Some say the world will end in fire, because it was one of my first Russingon stories and one of my only earnest attempts at writing angst...

I don't know why this one popped up in my mind, but I'm going with my gut here.

There are a few Ori-stories of which I am personally fond, but I understand that he's not a character people are interested in...so, this one, yeah...

It was a treat for TRSB...and...I really don't know how I feel about it 🥺

I've added the 4th volume to the First Tries site for folks who are interested!

I haven't had as much to fix to prep Volumes 4 and 5 for print so I've been working on the pages out of order when I get free time.  I'm still uploading scenes on TH: FT in order though. :X

PS - Volumes 4 and 5 are kickstarting together when they're ready.
