Gimpy passed this morning.

He suffered a sharp decline at the start of quarantine, and never really recovered. The last few weeks his fins started falling away even more, and nothing I tried seemed to help him.

I will remember him as the unique and beautiful fish he was, who made friends with with every human he met, and occasionally forgot how to be a fish.

From the moment I got him, Gimpy's personality shone through any condition he had. He was cranky in the mornings and loved to be near me while I was working. The office's favorite game was spot the fish, trying to figure out where in the tank Gimpy was lying around.

Gimpy came into my life at a point when I didn't think I had anything to offer, but he showed me how much care I still had in me. I'm going to miss him, but I'm glad to know he's no longer in any discomfort.

Getting good pictures of the celestial pearl danio's is super hard but these came out quite decent. Hopefully my camera picks them up better when they're bigger.

Also they are starting get fuller bellys, got some brine shrimp about to hatch for them so we should be good. Still got all 5 luckely.

Also the rotala H'ra is getting good color compared to the ludwigia palustris in the left of it.

Glad to say all is going well :D

I'm exHAUSTED I did a bunch of house chores today, but most importantly I got my water change done. It looked like this

My poor fish, y'all. I think the weather did a number on it because it's been hot and you can't really regulate the temp of a freshwater goldfish tank. So I dunno I must have had some kind of either bloom or die off or Both bc the brown algea almost gone, but the green algea as u can see has exploded. Tanks still kinda cloudy now, but I'm going to try and do a partial water change again later this week, and maybe it'll help?? Idk.

Also, I finally put mosquito bits in all my houseplants so in about a few weeks we should be blessedly fungus gnat free! Yay!

Fish Update....

Where did the “twins” get their colouring from? They’re almost identical, but neither of their parents have black scales o_O Their mum is orange (gif below), their dad is blue with a hint of silver (which could explain their strange silvery patches - gif below).... their “Uncle Guppy” has black, though? :P

Update the 1000th

So I’ve been gone a while from here, oops! Truth is I’ve working on.. a game! It’s definitely not the same one from 2016, I swear! It totally is.  BUT! I also had to drive back to my home state (12hrs! Yikes!) to help my family and say goodbye to my grandma for the last time. Theeeeeen drive back home to move from Little Rock to Memphis!   It’s been a grueling time the last 6 weeks and I’m super excited to be back! I’ve been thinking about a lot about what’s important to me in life and I want to build on that.

I’ll be sharing more on the game in a few days, and hope to kick back into taking commissions as well as doing more art in general over the coming weeks.
