I tossed some colors onto the Shachi mom art as well as some other musings.

The symbol there is the official design that animators use for Shachi's arm tats, but I believe there's been a funny game of unintentional telephone that got them to that point, more below vvv

Found a funny little loose thread that I tugged on and discovered something that seems to have happened on accident and then got adapted into what it is now

It seems early on, Oda intended for Shachi (and Penguin???) To have the same forearm tats as Law. The weird gear ones

But since their sleeves often cover most of it, and also were draw quickly, the language of the tats got lost over time through shorthand

Eventually, when it came time to animate them, they wound up becoming their own thing since it seemed they didn't realize their early-on origin of matching Law's tats

I think it's kinda funny but also more fitting? Makes Shachi (and Penguin) more of their own thing, though I do still like the idea of them at least sharing one tat with Law.

Dya (They/It) gets a reference featuring my trademark blank space. A demolitions expert with a love for snails and dismantling anything they can get their fins on.

They were originally a tiefling artificer in a Frost Maiden game but I've released them from ttrpg prison to be a fish freak in an art group. Sometimes you gotta shuffle the kids around different universes to play them the way you want to.
