Fish character Reference for a Game Jam
I made this for a gamejam. Sadly we weren't able to finish it on time but I still like the drawings I made so here they are! I had never designed something like this but I think it turned out okay. It's not by any means finished of perfect but we had a few weeks and a tooon of characters to do so not a lot of time to obssess over minute details!Ā
Have a great day!Ā
Character Designs
Character designs for OCs that Iām using for a school project. They needed fully realized designs so I have something to reference when Iām drawing them over and over. I will have to reel in some of the adult themes for the parameters of the class, sadge, but itās a cool opportunity to flesh out each of these characters. Speaking of, Feral Flesh is the working title of this story. If anyone has other ideas for a title, please let me know! Pitch: Since he was little, Costa remembers being stared at, mocked, and having people make disgusted faces at him. He has a muzzle, clammy cold skin, and a long finned tail. While the townsfolk have never been kind to him, luckily for a shark-human they live right at the edge of the ocean. Working odd jobs and taking what he can get, Costa finally saves up enough to buy his very own boat. His sanctuary out at sea, where he has solitude and peace. Heās good at fishing too, which brings in enough money for him to be comfortable. Sailing far enough into the ocean, he starts to feel this pull, this gut instinct to follow the direction heās being pulled towards. But he doesnāt follow it. All he wants is his peace and quiet. Saiyem has found her way to a little fishing town, following rumours of a non-human hybrid of some sort. People move out of her way without a word and whisper after she passes. Another hybrid? A fish? She hunts down this shark person at his fish stall. Finally, someone who will understand her plight. And once she learns of his sixth sense trying to lead him somewhere, he doesnāt have a choice. Theyāre going to follow it. Maybe what they find at the end of it will fix them both. Feral Flesh focusses on themes of self-acceptance, forgiveness, fear, unhealthy relationships, and discrimination. It falls primarily under the genre of drama, with some tones of horror, psychological thriller, and comedy. This story is inspired by some of my favourite media, things like Arcane, Alice: Madness Returns, The Platform, 3%, and indie horror franchises. Itās highly character focussed, with a small cast and small setting that allow their relationships to take centre stage.
