How do you start running? I've tried so many times but I can't run for that long and and want to lose weight
I honestly think that getting started is the hardest part. I have struggled with that too lately, especially this summer bc it has been so miserably hot!!
I think i’m driven by the fast results I seem to experience whenever I am actually motivated and sticking with it. My advice would be to spring into action the moment you feel motivated, don’t let yourself have too much time to *think* about it or talk yourself out of it lol, turn on some upbeat music and just get out there! :)
Whenever I am just starting to get back into shape I go pretty slow. I have an auto immune disease and pushing myself too hard too fast often results in a lot of injuries and swelling. This has taken me YEARS to get control over bc i tend to be really hard on myself....but anyway, I’ll start with just jogging one mile every other day or so for a week. Then I bump it up to 1.5 miles, or 2 if i have the time/energy. On weekends (usually Sunday morning) I’ll double whatever my current daily mileage is.
Also I think it’s important to note that I no longer shoot for much distance now that I understand how badly it affects my body vs. the few positives. Besides, fuck being skinny af lol, i think my body dysmorphia was driving my true intent behind wanting to run tons and tons of miles...smh.
The humidity killed me this morning 😩
