Is your flag a logo?
A great logo is simple, has no text, and is adaptable. The principles of flag design, according to the North American Vexillological Association are :
Keep it simple
Use meaningful symbolism
Use two or three basic colours
No lettering or seals of any kind
Be distinctive
Paul Rands principles of logo design are:
“A logo derives meaning from the quality of the thing it symbolizes, not the other way around.”
"The only mandate in logo design is that they be distinctive, memorable and clear.”
Presentation is key
Simplicity is not the goal. It is the by-product of a good idea and modest expectations.
Flag Logo is a collection of the uses of the American flag that I find while traveling on assignments. I started shooting them in 2002 and have been collecting them ever since.
