Wish I could make it to the Retirement party, but unfortunately I work 4 hours away. Do expect something in the mail soon @robisonleslie for Don and the Scholarship fund as a heads up. For those of you who cannot read my tiny writing, the card reads: Don Martin, you were not just a professor, but kind of like a Dad. You always supported my artistic journey and would give me life advice when I needed it. I could come to you for almost anything and am grateful for the dedication you had to all of us at Flagler. Thank you and Happy Retirement! Sincerely, Johanna Falzone —- Also, as an extended note, to those who may or may not be familiar with my time as Don’s student. I took Bookmaking with him not just because of my love of books, but because everyone I met during art school said Don was an excellent professor. I ended up doing a Independent Study for Bookmaking 2 because it wasn’t just a calling, but because Don was a fabulous mentor. It didn’t matter what crazy idea I had or how many times they changed, Don was supportive and instrumental in helping me through every turn. He always had a positive outlook or solution where I was totally at a loss. I am so thankful to have Don be in my life like I am with so many other professor/mentors. While I am so sad future generations will not know him or work with him, I hope that I have absorbed enough of his influence and teachings to pass it on to someone else.⭐️🌈📚🎨 #donmartinlegacy #flaglercollege #flaglercollegeart #flaglercollegealumni @flaglercollegeart @flaglercollege @flagleralumni @lmongiovi @spedigo
