OC Introduction: Gutter Wallbreaker

Name(s): Gutter Wallbreaker Age: ~50 Gender: Male Sexuality: Heterosexual, and DEFINITELY not bisexual, he swears! Warband: Wall (member) Affiliation: Flame Legion Profession: Tribune, stationed in the Black Citadel to facilitate new, better relations with the other legions

A Flame man who fought fang and claw to help fix Flame. In what can only be described as a TV sitcom husband-wife relationship with his mate, Wylora. His zealotry for women's rights seems odd to everyone outside of Flame, and even inside of it, but his good nature makes everyone mostly look past his odd over-the-top chivalry.

Random facts:

Has a big gut he's quite proud of, thanks to Wylora's amazing cooking; they're both fat and love to spoil eachother!

In order to fight old Flame he learned the ways of the Spellbreaker; a force to be reckoned with if you're a magic-user!

Has made a personal vow to never say no to a woman, as it's what he believes he can do to make amends for their former enslavement and treatment in Flame; this bites him in the ass constantly. Comes across really strange to most outside of Flame, even condescending or sexist.

Bisexual, but hates to admit it still. Growing on it, though. Wylora likes it.

Loves wrestling and competitive sport in general

Contrary to other Charr, LOVES his greens. Wants to taste a Sylvari, because they look delicious to him.

Cries easily, often considered a "big softy", much to his dismay

Hates losing. A LOT. A huge sore loser.

Backstory under the cut.

Born to be a Flame warrior, from a young age he was trained to be a zealot, and taught that women are nothing more than livestock to breed. In his village it was particularly bad, with women having little to no rights.

Upon his first assignment to breed a Flame woman, he simply couldn't bring himself to do it. Gutter took every punishment in the book for refusing to breed or in general abuse women, and was beaten to near death multiple times. He was useful for other things, so he was kept around, begrudgingly.

In secrecy, thanks to new knowledge of the Spellbreaker being opened to the world in 1330, he and other women trained, learning to counter the magic of the Flame men oppressing his village.

On one fateful day, after careful planning with the women of his village, he and the women killed every man besides him in his small village, saving the women from enslavement. He made an oath, roaring it into the skies so all could hear: so long as he lived, not a single woman in this village would ever suffer again.

This event spurred Efram Greetsglory, who had also been working to make political changes within Flame, to meet with this village. This resulted in Gutter's immediate ascension to Tribune in Efram's new Flame to boost morale, as while Efram worked patiently and strategically, Gutter represented action and bravery, something everyone admired.

Before long, real change happened, and "new Flame" became just modern Flame. Gutter's bravery and heroism would never be forgotten by the women, who adore him.

In new Flame, where things have calmed down, Gutter spends his time protecting the peace and enforcing the new laws. He is often teased by the women, who love to toy with him. As far as he's concerned, they are allowed to do as they please; it's the least he can do, considering their prior treatment.

He is currently mated to Wylora Wallmender. The two of them share a special bond, always telling eachother everything and loving to talk to eachother for hours and hours. They aren't just lovers, they are best friends!

You can find him in the Black Citadel in his office, filling out paperwork. He's often running around, helping boost morale and make sure people know Flame isn't what it used to be.

Thinking about flame legion female charr again and I realized what has been bugging me now

So I've seen a post that had the right spirt, but missed the goal post so to speak about flame legion females as warriors/soldiers and fighting. Because yes, we do see flame legion females not wanting to fight and there's nothing wrong with that.

But you can't ignore the fact that 90% of why they probably don't want to is because it's be quite literally beaten into them they can't and now that they're suddenly tossed into freedom and have been told to use their claws for war of course they're still iffy and unsure.

And i guess the reason that take bothered me so much was because I grew up in a similar situation (wasn't even allowed to wear pants till I hit my late teens and even then still restrict on what I as a woman could do)

It's not so much being made to fight as the FREEDOM to chose whether to or not...plus it doesn't help this happens during a civil war AND two dragons are actively duking it out and the current expansion showed that another civil war is simmering so yeah the pressure to ACTUALLY fight is there due to all the surrounding circumstances

That said I'm still standing firm on my want to see a Charr renaissance and I've already a few ficlets and four new flame legion females each showing different aspects of Flame society and culture and how they adapt to their new freedom, and I won't lie this is as much as a fun Lil fan project as it is something that also resonates heavily with my own personal experiences
