Loner may be Charlie Crown’s debut single, but I can assure you, you’re no stranger to this producer’s dexterous talent. In fact, we’ve been singing this Miami-based Bogota native praises for well over a year. Charlie Crown, previously known as Flapo, makes his inaugural appearance under his new name with cinematic, orchestral trap on stunning Loner, featuring breathy ravishing vocals by Hyara. Crown’s technical abilities are on full display as he dazzles us with the kinetic soundscape on gripping Loner, rife with complex rhythms and lavish strings. Charlie Crown states: "Loner is a track about feeling disconnected from other people and ultimately the world following the demise of a relationship. It looks to examine the moments at which paths diverge and how we reconcile the emotional weight of such a shift and attempt to create new energy in moving forward."  It’s ingenious that Loner actually encapsulates those feelings in a sonic sense with its pushes and pulls, drops and rises, tugs and shoves. It almost feels like we’re fighting to move forwards through a barrage of moving obstacles and walls. I suppose this is the human condition, and we’re not “loners” in traveling these rocky paths. Denver production whiz StéLouse surprised us a couple months ago with a collaboration with Tilian Pearson of Dance Gavin Dance, and the pair turned out to be a perfect fit for each other on future bass/chill trap anthem Bones. Colombian born, Miami based producer Flapo has given the song his own twist, remixing it into a euphoria inducing aria with a beautifully affecting atmospheric makeup that really takes full advantage of Tilian’s silky melting vocals. It’s not often that we encounter a remix as fully bewitching and thoroughly spellbinding as this one by Miami based producer Flapo. He’s given Nashville project Through Juniper Vale’s stringy enchanting electropop gem The Last Time an edit that alternates between beautifully atmospheric and playful burbling. Like a siren, Through Juniper Vale’s operatic vocals lead us through Flapo’s whizzing hills and vast expanses. The remix is part of an official package that also includes re-works by I The AI and VRS.US. All three edits are available now from iTunes.

Half the Animal’s Magic is without a doubt one of the most infectious tunes of the year. How do I know it’s true? Magic randomly pops into my head almost daily, and I can’t get enough of its chorus. And now the song from the Los Angeles indie quartet has gotten a wicked remix treatment, courtesy of Charlie Crown, the Miami-based Colombian producer formerly known as Flapo. Magic goes brisk and glorious future bass on Charlie Crown’s spectacular re-work. It’s an utterly electrifying, vivacious jolting whizzing tour de force. “Every Wave” of Flapo’s recent remix hits with electric elation. The producer from Miami has given Swedish duo Tundran a thoroughly intoxicating that bends the track to his whim and fancy. While the original is a dreamy synthwave and synthpop treat, Flapo has turned Every Wave on its head and changed its course with a fluid and smooth future beats styled dance edit that’s stunningly atmospheric.
