it’s my birthday! just wanted to say (gladly) that I will be donating to World Vision’s various appeals through my work - & with each order you can choose which cause you want to support! currently: the recent earthquake in central mexico, the rohingya crisis, droughts in east africa, & some regular appeals they run.
please visit world vision to see the work they do, & to support in any way you can :-) as a student I feel that my view & understanding of the world can be quite myopic - & I’m so blessed to be able to give back.
visit my shop here! will definitely be posting more often... been very under the weather & tied down with work. I promise I will do better x thank you & God bless!
Whether you're taking photos of your food, daily outfits, beauty products, or essentials, you know that flatlay is the way to go. Most of the time, I use my iPhone to take photos. Although I have a DSLR, my phone is more handy and has a square setting which is perfect for my Instagram photos. Also, I just use a white japanese paper or sometimes an illustration board as my background. Sometimes, my floor also serves as a background since it is made of wood. This just proves that you don't really need a fancy equipment and materials to capture a great photo.
I'm currently following a lot of bloggers on my Instagram account and they have inspired me in a lot of ways. Through their photos, I get to learn more on how to style my photos. I also browse Pinterest form time to time and save some pins as references for my flatlays. In my post, I will be showing how I put together my flatlay in different ways and give you some tips.

breakfast, and re-reading one of my favourite books of all time x
It takes time and effort to have a pretty feed ✨
These are some of the shots I took during last weekend’s flatlay shoot. I only used my phone to take these photos and edited it using color story and vsco. The lighting pretty much sucks as it kept on raining the past few days so I had to rely on my editing apps.
I’m super inlove with flatlays, workspaces and minimalism. It just looks so clean and organized. I usually browse Pinterest for ideas and inspiration before I do my shoot. Having a pretty feed takes time and effort. Also, its not just a one take thing. It takes some practice to capture the perfect photo. I do experiment with different angles and positioning of the objects and then check them all afterwards to see which I like the best.
Looking forward to the weekend once again so I can shoot more flatlays.
