"Try to study every day!!"
"If you'd rather watch a movie, then mute the movie and study while occasionally looking up"
That is stuff that I've genuinely read on here and if a important exam is coming up that could be applied but often those tips are given for normal, everyday studying.
And I am here to tell you, that you are allowed, ney you need, to take breaks and off days. You need it to refresh your brain, prevent a burn out and to simply live a little.
People who work have weekends and a set time where they end work ("Feierabend" in German) too, so why would you have to study all the time.
I handle it this way: I study Mo-Fr, Saturdays I study half the day and I take the Sunday off! On Sundays I don't even look at law related media. I need it to have some kind of structure.
My tips:
Set a time where you don't study. I usually start at 8am, take a few longer breaks and stop at 6pm ish. Again, think of people in the working world, a normal work day is 8h long.
Give yourself at least 1 whole day without studying. On this day you relax and have time for your hobby (if you love studying a language in your free time than that is okay too)
Watch a movie without guilt, you don't need to be "productive" all the time
8/365 - Friday - Jan 8th 2021 As many tips and examples I have seen every day here and on Instagram, I decided to use word cards to help me with French and some main Constitutional & Administrative Law notes. I must admit that it is working fine! It makes me remember the main topics/ideas very fast, help me during my reviews and while I am answering questions for tests. All those tips and information shared by Studyblr Community are amazing! I definitely feel that I am a better student now :) As the weekend is here (yay), I will prepare my study material, my study plan, and prepare myself for many study hours. Have a nice weekend you all!
looking for new studyblrs to follow! like/reblog this post if you will be an active studyblr in 2020! thank you! ✨
9-9-2019: i’m studying philosophy for the first time ever and it is harder than i expected but i’m trying to have faith in myself and pass with a great mark
So, last semester didn’t go how you wanted it to. It definitely didn’t for me. However, we can always try again this semester! As the semester is beginning, take time to look back and assess what worked/didn’t work for you last semester and make changes for this semester . After crying over my grades, I used the break to recharge emotionally and physically, and look back to figure out what was hindering my growth. I realized that although most of it had to do with situations that were out of my hands, there were a lot of factors that were in my control. My biggest problem last semester was organization, especially with notes and planning, so I’ve decided to shift to digital note-taking because I have all my notes/handouts in one place.
Wishing us all a semester full of growth and happiness...we got this!
