Dean was a marine, turned mechanic, recovering from a bad break up and a few too many ghosts from war that make sleep a hard things to achieve. Every summer he and his brother Sam spend a few weeks at a cabin by the lake with some of their friends. That year Sam invited Castiel, one of his friends from Stanford, to stay with them. After an interesting first encounter Dean and Cas don’t have the best start to their friendship, but Dean soon learns that it’s easier for him to sleep whenever Cas is near.

The barrel of the colt felt icy against the back of his head, Dean froze in mid motion. He slowly raised his hand holding up in the air the jawbone like blade. “Drop the blade Dean!” Castiel commanded his voice was stern. “Not a chance Cas.” Dean replied.
