I sent this to my boy who had not yet read Murderbot with the understanding that the OC (really, an elevated extra - it appears for all of three lines in Exit Strategy) would be his favourite character and not only was I right but now he won't read Murderbot because it won't have Combatunit in it.

So: if you haven't read Murderbot. Maybe read Murderbot first so you don't do that to yourself.

This is a For Want of a Nail series in which Murderbot is captured during the dock fight in Exit Strategy instead of making it out. What happens next? A lot. A lot happens next.

thanks to my choice to go team chill this round, I spent a full three untroubled days working on the effects to Fulfill My Internal Vision of the story’s nifty unconventional formatting, and I’m very pleased with how it turned out! please enjoy this very bad workday in the life of a Combat SecUnit.

the quarterly report will include commendations for FlipSpring in recognition of their generosity in permitting transformative works! there will also be a recognition award for @mistbornhero​ whose guest vocal as Target SecUnit, aka Murderbot, provides the perfect contrast, and without which the whole thing would be poorer.
