I competed in men's gymnastics from age 5 all the way through college at Arizona State University. The Still Rings was my specialty in college and I achieved the title of All American on that gymnastic event. - Now that I'm graduated with a BS degree in Exercise & Wellness and retired from the sport of gymnastics, I have moved onto other areas of fitness. I have begun bodybuilding and preparing to compete in physique competitions. I strive to stay healthy and improve my own personal fitness level. - I do just about every form of working out. Whether it's weight lifting, interval training, Crossfit, Olympic lifting, o my favorite of simply using my own body weight. I actively play many sports still which is why I train with such variation. - Staying functional is a concept I have chosen to apply to my workout. By functional I mean training to not just be that ridiculously big guy at the gym who can deadlift 700 pounds. That is awesome and incredibly impressive don't get me wrong, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the average person does not lift 700 pounds on a regular basis. - When I workout, I choose to train and do exercises that will improve my everyday life and further develop my athletic ability. Some examples are: doing explosive leg exercises in order to increase my jump height when I play sports; working with dumbbells to develop stability, control, and coordination; doing abs so that I will be able to do a backflip until I'm 80 years old; doing bodyweight exercises so that if I decide to trip over a curb I can catch my own weight instead of falling on my face. - The list could go on forever. Bottom line is, I train with purpose. Functional purpose. I workout to better my lifestyle and better my physical and mental capability. I am always striving to be a better Landon. That is the philosophy I live by and what I hope to instill in you as well. - ➡ STAY FUNCTIONAL ⬅ ... ... ... ... ... #flipt #fliptfitness #stayfunctional #functionalfitness #fitness #fitnessmotivation #fitnesslifestyle #workout #workoutmotivation #aesthetics #physique #gymnastics #mensgymnastics #bodybuilding #abs #weightlifting #gym #arizonastateuniversity #shredded (at California)
