Tadashi glanced down at the little ball of sadness in his arms and sighed. “Hiro.” He mumbled softly before changing course. There was a mountain, about a mile out of town, and on the mountain was a cave that Tadashi often escaped to when he was feeling down. Maybe it was time to show Hiro his secret spot. 

It took a good while, and the male was silent as they flew, only the rush of wind and the heavy sound of strong flapping from Tadashi’s wings.

When they landed, he ducked between two rocks that were place cleverly to create the illusion of no entrance. It opened into a large, well lit cave that clearly had items in it to provide shelter should he ever decide to sleep there. He even had a little fire pit with some wood stored away. 

Without saying a word, he sat down, tucking his wings in tightly to his back and carefully leaning against the wall, Hiro in his arms. 

“Hiro,” He finally started, voice soft. “Why do you bot fight?”
