You know, I do like the narrative in fics where it’s like “Cloud may be mako sensitive, but he’s still strong and determined!” But sometimes I want:

“Cloud Strife may be physically lacking but he’s smart as hell.”

Or even,

“Cloud strife is kind of average at everything.”

Because it creates interest in his narrative for me.

I want, a fic where Cloud can’t really lift a sword above his head without adrenaline, but he once finished Commander Rhapsodos’ recitation for him.

I want, Cloud strife gets out of the army after being unable to promote and gets by in the slums selling flowers and scrap metal with the girl who’s dating the guy he’s crushing on.

I want, Cloud strife makes his name in the canine unit because he understands dogs better than people.

I want, Cloud Strife is an avid reader and maybe good at art too.

I want, Cloud Strife has limited reading skills but is good mathematically.

I want, Cloud Strife who is better with a sniper Riffle than he is with a sword.

I just want verity in my Cloud Strife, you know?

I DO!! But it's all kinda scattered and my brain is too fried to tie it all together in a neat little essay so I'll just use bullet points :] another drawingg tooo!!

Just some quick context n stuff:

Flo technically would share a birthday with me that would make them a tainted soul but for the sake of originality I made them a stagnant soul !

Their backstory isn't anything extraordinary. Just like Henryk they've dipped their toes into everything but where the two differ is that they've become comfortable with failure/dead ends to them it feels ideal to stay in a consistent state of limbo.

Flo has actually gotten further in the art scene than Henryk but abandoned that dream for something with lower expectations. Something that feels like nobody is nitpicking their choices.

In the game's currently time they were on their way home but got on the wrong train and ended up in Prehevil.

OK actual relationship lore and thingss:

Henryk enjoys the company of someone else whos a 'loser' in the same way, in his mind read dialogue he mentions how everyone has a specialty and that he's the only 'normal' person on the train. I feel like he'd feel equal or maybe even slightly above Flo.

Though he can't help but have a little resentment towards Flo. He didn't get the chance to do something creative like them and they decided to just throw it away despite being so close.

They both display faux elegance. Despite Flo giving up on their art career they still keep it as a large part of their person, they can be a little stuck up about the arts. They love bad mouthing things together.

Flo sticks around Henryk for protection and later for food. They crank the damsel in distress act up to eleven around him, they know it strokes his ego when he feels useful so they let him do all the fighting. Even if he whines about it a little at the end...

It goes from they need protection -> they need protection and food -> they can fend for themselves but damnn Henryk's food is good they can't leave now.

They did have a one time fling during the festival... just a itty bitty one #antimoonscorching

After that both caught feelings but instead of confessing to each other they kept beating around the bush to see if they can pry to confession out of the other.

I feel like their relationship doesn't bloom until after termina (assuming they both survive el oh el + what deep relationship blossoms in three days???) Flo would've promised to visit his tavern under the guise of giving his cooking a super harsh critique but they're only there to see him again.

Realistically speaking they'd keep the fling thing going for a while, Henryk isn't the type to bare his heart to someone so easily I assume. (I'm going into headcanon territory here/tangent) I feel like his fling with the pianist he mentioned ended in him also catching feelings and wanting something deeper, since his whole background centers around rejection I can only assume it extends to his love life. He'd definitely hesitate to take that same leap with Flo.

Henryk strikes me as the type to lie about how many people he's been with to try to keep up the appearance of 'a real man' I could literally go on and on about my ideas about him but this isn't about him right now.

Soup

Can i say how underrated soup is??? chicken noodle is warm, filling and comforting like a hug Hearty, thick, and chunky like a stew or chowder Thin, light, almost creamy and cold like a refreshing gazpacho Complex and layered like a slow cooked Pho broth simple and elegant like a bisque especially in the fall, I feel like nothing is quite as comforting as soup on a cold day. Even half way across my country, a bowl of it makes me feel right at home and welcome. I know it's not everyone's jam but, it's something magical and versatile to even recycle ingredients.

Throw some veggie butts you have leftover in a pot with some water, maybe some random seasonings you might like too. Salt and pepper, maybe even throw in a whole egg in the last couple minutes if you want. it's an awesome way to recycle what may not be enough for a full meal honestly.
