Back when I was in denial about wanting to play Fallen London (“I don’t want to play I just want to make an NPC” I would say and you know what. That’s still true to some extent. I love making npcs) and would only occasionally consider the idea, I did some sketches of an early self insert with a ball-joint hip as a stand-in for my flare-up sciatica. I still think about the idea from time to time and while I don’t think it will happen to the Tailor I want to use the idea SOMEWHERE so here is some art both old and new under the cut

(Note that these are not under the cut for body horror or for nudity- the body horror is extremely minimal all things considered. It’s under the cut because I feel weird about old art. Lmao)

Preliminary thoughts, when I knew less about fallen London, were that they’d been something of a casualty during the Starved War and had a resulting Shaping done to try to mitigate the damage. The hip and the thigh were still flesh, but the femur joint itself was bone porcelain. There would have been some kind of Correspondence etched into the places where the ball made contact with the body to keep it stable and functional.

In a BJD, the elastic is threaded through the body and the ball into the leg hollow. What would be threaded through the ball here would be the Nerves of the leg. This was prone to suck and be painful as you can imagine. The leg could be stiff and the character would limp from time to time as well as use a cane with regularity.

Now imagine stabbing a bat while dealing with this shit.

Alt Atlas (Altlas?) designs have been haunting me for months so I doodled the two main ones to give myself peace

Random Atlas fact: if your sense of smell is sensitive enough (and it has to be really sensitive), they have the constant underlying scent of burning metal

I have a lot of Intriguer drawings I just have not taken a pic of but these are the most recent drawings. The shithead frequently attempts to sneak up on the Tailor in their sleep and 99.8 percent of the time they wake up and pin it down and threaten it with its own Vake claw. This is a form of entertainment for it.

Some cleanup redrawing on the Tailor’s formal conclave outfit. I stiiiiill think it needs some tweaking but they’re still so handsome. You know how canonically the PC is very attractive to people of all genders in London? The Tailor is my scale for that.
