Also my high school absolutely did have something called a 0th and 10th period which was the result of serious understaffing. They made us start school at 7am and sometimes stay till 4pm because there weren't enough teachers to cover the lessons for all classes during the regular lesson times, so they made us come to school earlier on some days and stay longer on others with free periods in-between and your timetable ended up looking like a swiss cheese
