Flour on Faces!!!! What a fun evening!
First full day of camp!
Today was the first full day of camp. Boy, did I hear a lot of “Coach, I’m sore.”, “Coach, I’m tired!” already. Yesterday, we spent about 2.5 hrs on the court of grading and competition. Campers were grouped according to where they ended up in the competition. We started back up again this morning with plenty of drills. And in the afternoon, we videoed all of their forehands and analyzed them. We also competed again this afternoon for their groupings tomorrow. We are starting to be very familiar with each camper. Some have even earned some good nicknames already. It has been a fun camp so far. At the end of tennis today, we sang happy birthday for one of the coaches as it was his birthday. He wouldn't tell us how old he was so I said he was 39 years young! The evening activity was called Olympics. It was a bunch of “field-day” relay games on the lawn involving beach balls, water balloons and some flour on faces. You will have to ask your campers what that was all about. I will post a picture in a different post. Team “The Illusion” won the Games. A lot of fun was to be had. Good ending to Monday. Oh, the quote of the day was “Hard work beats talent IF talent doesn't work hard”.
