I think one thing I really like about him is, for a lack of a better term, just how interesting he is? Like, he’s a kid given weird time powers, he died trying to help his sibling, he blames himself for their death, he’s a direct parallel of the player, he’s motivated by grief and boredom, he’s barely in the game while also constantly following Frisk, he's the final boss of two routes, he's the most miserable guy around AND he’s a flower. One of the guys of all time for me

What Flowey says when spared... “...why? ...why are being... ... so nice to me? I can’t understand. I can’t understand! I just can’t understand...” I imagine it serves as a fairly good parallel to how Chara must have felt, being a child who learned to hate humanity and running to a mountain no one returns from, meeting monsters for the first time. Neither of them can imagine someone not hating them in that situation, someone extending mercy.
