Ongoing series! This is the first part, and I'm really excited to work more on this! Seasonal depression has got me, so I decided it would be fun to write something summery and warm to distract myself from how cold it's been recently, lol!
𝒮ummary: You take a visit to Japan for the summer with some friends from school, 2 weeks in a little seaside town in the countryside. But who would've guessed you’d meet a cute freckled boy on your beach day? He's charming, sweet, and incredibly cute, even though you know this won't last, you still enjoy your time with him. (I'm genuinely entered a flow state, idk fic ideas are flowing sm easier lol)

The hot sun beat down on you as you adjusted your sunglasses for the fourth time. All your friends were either playing volleyball or swimming in the clear water, while you were under the umbrella with a bowl of colorful fruit and a book on your lap.
You spent at least 2 hours in the sun, laughing, splashing your friends, and partaking in the summer while it was still young. Now, you have a gnarly sunburn because you forgot to apply sunscreen. Admitting defeat, you decided to spend the rest of the time at the beach under the umbrella, regretting crashing into you like the waves.
Your friendgroup decided that this was finally the summer where the four of you would travel to Japan, which was on your group's bucket list for ages. Spending the warm season in a small countryside town in Okinawa was the best decision ever! The locals were super friendly, the scenery was to die for, and not to mention the food was spectacular.
Sadly, your trip was only for 2 weeks. That was barely enough time to sightsee, you thought as you stared at the crashing waves. One of your friends was splashing the other, earning a few squeals.
“HEY!! WHAT THE HEL, THE WATERS SO COLD DONT SPLASH ME!” Your friend squealed, attempting to run the other way, almost tripping.
“Come on! Don't be a pussy, it's not even that cold!” Your other friend barked, biting back a laugh as they squirted them with a plastic water gun, chasing after them with insane speed.
You chuckled to yourself as you turned your attention away from the commotion and back to your book. Until a stray beachball rolled its way over to you, gently hitting the side of your thigh.
You glanced up, seeing a green-haired boy run after the stray ball.
“I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to.. My friend kicked the ball a little too hard and...” The boy kept on stammering; he looked completely out of breath. He smiled apologetically, rubbing the back of his neck.
“Oh! No, it's completely fine. It's not your fault, don't worry, things like this happen all the time!” You chuckled, handing the beachball back to the boy.
Now that he was a little closer, you realised he was really cute. Dark greenish hair, light freckles on the bridge of his nose and dusted across his cheeks, and when he smiled, you could see his slightly crooked teeth.
He must have realized you were staring, because his face began to turn completely red.
“Umm? Do you need sunscreen or something? Your face is like a strawberry; I have some in my bag if you want it.” You asked, grabbed the big bottle of sunscreen from your tote bag, handed it to the boy, and gestured for him to take it.
“It's okay, I'm fine! It’s just that I thought… You were really pretty, that's all.” He muttered, gaze moving towards the sand as if it were the most interesting thing in the world.
Your face turned flush red. How could he do something like that so casually, to a stranger, even? You gently brushed a strand of stray hair behind your ear, smiling at the boy shyly.
“Thank you, that's really sweet!” You grinned.
“Are you from here? Or, are you on vacation as well?” The freckled boy asked.
“I'm on vacation with a few friends…just for the summer.” You replied.
“I’m not from around here, but my grandparents live up on that hill over there. I grew up here during the summer, so I could definitely show your group of friends around if you'd like.” The boy asked, a small grin plastered on his face as he awaited your reply.
I mean, what were the odds of running into such a cute boy here anyway, and he's even offering to give your friends a tour. Is this some type of dream? But what happened to stranger danger? What if he were secretly a mafia boss or something? Nahhh, there's no way.
After a long mental debate, you finally decided to break the awkward silence.
“I’d love to! But I don't think I got your name." You added.
“Oh! Sorry about that; my name is 𝐼zuku ℳidorya. It's nice to meet you, Miss…?”
“My name’s Y/N. It's really nice to meet you, ℳidoryia.” You cooed, reaching your hand out to shake his hand.
ℳidorya softly smiled, doing the same and taking your hand into his. You gestured for him to take a seat next to you, gently patting the space next to you. He obliged, sitting down nervously.

Conversation flowed easily between the two of you, like you've known each other for years. You found out then that ℳidorya was a student at the prestigious U.A Highschool, that's why he looked so familiar, you knew you'd seen him somewhere. He told you about his dreams, fears, and hobbies. And, you told him yours. It was calming; he seemed like an honest boy, really determined.
The two of you talked for hours, until the sun began to set, illuminating the beach with a beautiful glow. His friends called him over, a loud-spiky-haired blonde, and a calm and collected boy with two-toned hair and a scar covering his left eye.
“Give me a second, guys!” ℳidorya shouted, glancing at you as he took out his phone from the pocket of his swim shorts.
“So we can keep in touch, you know, just in case?” He asked, the corners of his ears turning a slight shade of rosy pink.
You nodded, taking his phone into your hands, swiftly typing your number into his phone. You edited the contact, putting your name with an emoji, finally hanging the phone back to its owner.
“There you go! Make sure not to forget to text me, alright?” You joked, gently jabbing him with your elbow.
“I won't forget for the world,” ℳidorya whispered, sheepishly waving goodbye, getting up from the corner of the towel and sprinting towards his friend group, apologizing for not helping pack up sooner.
A smile made its way onto your face as you watched his figure disappear from your line of vision. One of your friends jumped onto you, wrapping their hands around your neck.
“Ohhh! Looks like someone found themselves a cute summer fling!” They cooed, poking the side of your cheek with their finger.
“Hey! Your fingers are freezing. How long were you in the water for anyway!” You yelped, swatting their fingers away with a huff.
“Whatever, stop trying to deflect. Come on, it's getting really late. That restaurant might close if we don't hurry.” Your friend barked, grabbing the cooler in their hands as they made their way to the rental car.
You let out a loud sigh, muttering under your breath as you pick up the rest of the towels and head to the car. The sound of the waves grows quieter, fading behind you as you load the trunk and close it with a soft thud before getting into the driver’s seat.
Ping!
A notification, from who? You grabbed your phone from your shorts' back pocket, examining the number before you chuckled to yourself.
𝐼zuku- Hey y/n! So are you down to meet at the beach again tomorrow?😁🤍
'This trip was gonna be more eventful than you expected', you thought to yourself as your friend revved up the car's engine, the beach slowly disappearing in the distance.
Remember, this is only the first part of this fic. I'm debating on posting on other platforms like AO3 when the story gets a little longer, but I hope you enjoyed!! ꉂ(˵˃ ᗜ ˂˵)
