Watching Zootopia 2, and get to where Nick is calling Judy his pack and Judy is calling him her fluffle.
This of course is meant to be an emotional moment of vulnerability between them as they resolve their conflict throughout the movie, but my Yugioh brainrot kicks in right there and I just think:
Where's my Fluffal Fox, Konami?
What's broken can never be the same again...
I present to you folks, the Broken Toys AU.
I thought of sharing this since @ninja-knox-ur-sox-off and @winterpower98 got me into Lego Monkie Kid with their art.
Considering no one really knows much about MK's situation involving his birth parents, here's one of my interpretations with this particular AU. There is hints of Yugioh in this but no knowledge of the series is needed! I'll fill in the necessary holes when it comes up.
A 9 year old MK whose out shopping for his parents comes across a peculiar item. It is a deck full of Duel Monsters cards, specifically the Frightfur Archetype.
(For those not accustomed to Yu-Gi-Oh, Frightfurs are a deck type that revolves around the concept of toys and have two sibling monsters called Edge Imps and Fluffals.
This is a Fluffal, Fluffal Leo for example.
This is a Edge Imp, Edge Imp Saw to be precise.
A Fluffal and Edge Imp fuse together to form Frightfurs which are the bosses of the deck! Demon possessed toys with incredible power, when Fluffal Leo fuses with Edge Imp Saw, it becomes Frightfur Leo!
These are the only Yu-Gi-Oh card Archetypes that will pop up! Now onto the AU itself.)
Thinking the cards are cool, MK takes them home with him. Each night he begins having dreams of the monsters coming to life and act like a family towards him. It didn't come apparent that there were more to these cards until his abusive parents decide to punish him one day.
The cards had come to life and protected him! MK has the power to bring these monsters and their respective magic into reality, something that he uses to leave his abusive home once and for all.
One day however, a 10 year old MK gets into an accident that leaves him horribly mangled. In order to save him, the Frightfurs had put him back together with their magic at the cost of accidentally turning MK into a Frightfur Type Toy Demon. To keep his monstrous form under wraps, his Monkey King Plush was converted into a housing vessel for his true form. However if MK becomes too stressed or angry, then his toy nature comes out to play.
Other ways for his toy nature to show is that he doesn't feel pain, visible injuries reveal cotton instead of blood or flesh, and MK has a habit of eating things like tools or cotton stuffing.
Rumors of a creepy kid with monsters following him spread throughout Megapolis but no one knows who it is until MK becomes the Monkie King's successor.
His relationship to the canon characters for this AU:
Pigsy: MK was found sleeping outside of Pigsy's Noodles one night and is taken by Pigsy. Their relationship is almost the same as in canon but Pigsy is more open about being his father figure and protective of MK. Knows about his Frightfur family and true form.
Tang: He meets MK during one of his visits to Pigsy's Noodles. Tang teaches the boy proper living skills and has enrolled in online school so he can have a proper education. A lot MK's Monkey King merch comes from Tang. Knows about MK's Frightfur family and true form.
Mei: They meet at the arcade when Mei was trying to win a plush dragon from a rigged crane machine. Mei is MK's best friend who indulges in trying any outfits he sews together and come to him to fix up any plushies or torn clothing. Knows about his Frightfur family but hasn't seen his true form just part of his toy nature.
Sandy: Encounters MK at the docks trying to sew together a few tarps. MK comes to Sandy very often whenever he's having a bit of bad day or needs to relax. Sandy has quite a few cat plushies and cat toys that the young man handmade for him and his cats. Has seen MK's Frightfur family but not his true form, only part of his toy nature.
Sun Wukong/Monkey King: Wukong knew there was something special about MK when he first arrived to his mountain. He was very concerned seeing all the stitches across the young man's body so he's a bit more careful and serious when it comes to training. Wukong often sends MK home after training with sewing materials or peaches. Knows about his Frightfur family but nothing about his toy nature or true form.
Red Son: Immediately knew there was some off about MK upon their first encounter. He was already wary of the boy when he summoned one of his Fluffals to fend off his family back at the mountain where DBK was sealed. Summoning Frightfur Chimera made Red Son begin an investigation on MK's origins and just what he exactly is. Knows about Frightfur family but not his true form or toy nature.
This MK will be known as Fright since this won't be the only LMK au I make with a drastic twist to the character. He's called Fright since he tends to scare others a whole lot. Fright is very kind like canon MK but is quick to anger or hold a grudge should someone takes advantage of his trust and emotions. He likes to sew, repair or make toys, costumes and clothing in his spare time.

Heya folks! Today we'll be covering the last group of monsters for the Broken Toys Au: The Fluffals! Like I said before, this will be split in two parts since a blog post can only have ten pictures max and there are like 14 Fluffals.
Fluffals can be dispensed through the Toy Vendor! These adorable monsters are mostly supportive, and have some really helpful effects for MK to unleash as devastating combos! Now let's get started shall we?
Helpful Headstart: Fluffal Dog 'Spots'
Man's best friend in toy form and MK's main starting monster. Fluffal Dogs are reliable winged canines who love to help out whenever they can. These good bois boast a lot of attack power, greater than the other Fluffals and decent defense too! Fluffal Dogs are so helpful that upon being summoned, MK gets a free Fluffal or Edge Imp Sabres to use for later.
Spots is a Fluffal Dog whose brown spots are black in color and have a pattern similar to a dalmatian. Super friendly and playful, this doggo has a habit of giving any friend of MK's a lot of love. Spots also looks after any stray dogs that comes in his territory and babysits the puppies when their mothers are out hunting. He may be cute but isn't hesitant to get mean if someone threatens those the Fluffal Dog cares for.
Fusionist Salvage: Fluffal Cat 'Marmalade'
A monster MK can depend for a magical recovery in battle. Fluffal Cats aren't particular strong for combat, barely overcoming a few Fluffals in attack power. This physical weakness is greatly overcome with their ability to recover a Polymerization upon being fused so MK has an extra chance to fuse!
*Polymerization is a basic Fusion spell that can fuse monsters together for any type of Fusion Monsters, not just Frightfurs.*
Marmalade is a Fluffal Cat with an orange ribbon tied around her tail. She is a sweetheart with a huge sweet tooth especially for anything with marmalade hence her namesake. Marmalade likes visiting Mei and Sandy the most, especially Sandy as she can play with all of Sandy's cats too. With Mei, the two often take photos in various matching outfits or doing fun activities like riding on the dragon girl's motorcycle.
Pawerful Steed: Fluffal Leo 'Simba'
A strong Fluffal that is perfect for escape plans whenever MK is in trouble. Fluffal Leos are powerful amongst their angelic toy species, only a tiny bit weaker in strength compared to Fluffal Dogs. However, every single one of these plush lions have claws! When a Fluffal Leo attacks, they gain an extra chunk of power!
Simba is a Fluffal Leo that wears blue braces around his legs than silver. An adventurous monster who likes to explore whenever he can. Simba likes giving rides to others than just MK, he even gave Sandy a ride on his back much to the gentle giant's glee. Whenever Halloween rolls around, Pigsy's Noodles have a cart ride for visitors with a happy Fluffal Leo serving as the mighty steed.
Recovering Supplier: Fluffal Rabbit 'Diggs'
A Fluffal MK calls upon when a battle goes awry. Fluffal Rabbits aren't really good fighters but they have pretty high defensive power amongst most of their fellow Fluffals. These little cottontails are first responders since when they are used for a Fusion, these hares can bring back a Edge Imp Sabres or Fluffal from out of commission into Standby for MK to use later.
Diggs is a Fluffal Rabbit that has a shovel shaped hairpin on his right ear. Like his name suggests, this hyperactive hare likes to dig. If MK needs an escape tunnel or help finding something underground, Diggs is always the best option. Although our Monkie Kid might've had Diggs put sinkholes around the Monkey King's house once as a prank. An incident both swore to secrecy.
Unnerving Substitute: Fluffal Patchwork 'Cherub'
A peculiar Fluffal MK summons in a race against the clock scenario. Fluffal Patchworks are odd monsters with no fighting capabilities. Despite that, these bears hold an uncomfortable aura very similar to Frightfurs that they are pseudo-Frightfurs like Edge Imp Frightfuloids.
Fluffal Patchworks special power allows them to substitute as a catalyst for any Frightfur Fusion. A very helpful ability if MK's missing a card to summon a powerful and much needed Frightfur.
Cherub is a Fluffal Patchwork whose wings are golden instead of white. She is mostly silent, only offering words when needed. The little bear spends her time floating about and has a morbid sense of viewpoint on most situations. Cherub likes sitting on MK's head and creep out his friends.
Willing Sacrifice: Fluffal Bear 'Beary'
A teddy MK calls upon when magical support is needed. Fluffal Bears have decent attack power to stave normal enemies but their defense is much to be desired. These bears special power does make their physical capabilities null and void!
Fluffal Bears can sacrifice itself to give MK access to a specific spell depending on their position. If a bear is on standby then MK is granted a set Toy Vendor. If this Fluffal is active on the field, he can recycle a Polymerization for future uses.
Beary is a Fluffal Bear whose scarf is blue. He is actually Teddy's sibling since both were made at the same time but this bear decided to remain a Fluffal. Beary usually spends the day managing the Frightfur Sanctuary's carnival games or events. Just like Teddy, he likes to give out hugs but these are less hazardous.
Fusion Wonder: Fluffal Owl 'Alder'
An avian Fluffal MK can rely on for some quick fusion assistance. Fluffal Owls are a bit weaker than Fluffal Bears in both physical capabilities. Something that is offset when it comes to these birds' wisdom on Fusion.
Any summoned Fluffal Owl grants MK a free Polymerization straight from the deckpool. If push comes to shove, our Monkie Kid can use this plushie's ability to perform another fusion at the price of some of his life energy.
Alder is a Fluffal Owl that wears a scholar's cap on his head. This scholarly bird is a huge collector of knowledge that he even has a personal library! Any subject from mythology, literature, history, mathematics, etc, Alder will be happy to learn and write down. Tang, Warlock and Wright tend to visit Alder for weekly discussions over some tea. He taught MK as a child and helped the young man when he had difficulty with online classes.
Card Vendor: Fluffal Wings 'Rise'
A peculiar Fluffal that MK calls upon to challenge his fate. Other than summoning guides, Toy Vendors have an implication for battle as well! These giant gumball machines can grant a chance to get special summon a Fluffal or bankrupt MK of one card. This is where Fluffal Wings come in.
These living wings aren't good in a fight but are perfect for handling Toy Vendors. A fallen Fluffal Wings can exorcise itself alongside another fallen Fluffal to let MK draw a card and even sacrifice a Toy Vendor for an extra card. Pretty great since a destroyed or sacrificed Toy Vendor gives the Monkie Kid a free Fluffal or Edge Imp Sabres!
Rise is a Fluffal Wings with a Monkey King pin on their right glove. They could be compared to butterfly, friendly but easily skittish. MK had gotten the Fluffal that particular pin when they were having a bad day needed some cheer. Rise prefers quiet comfortable places and hates being alone. They oddly like to follow Mei, on rare occasions even sneaking into her house! Guess everyone dragon needs a pair of wings.
Vending Fusionist Fluffal Dolphin 'Chappy'
A swimmingly helpful plush MK can summon for Vendor powered comebacks. Fluffal Dolphins aren't just great swimmers but also great fighters as they tie with Fluffal Leo in strength. Unlike Leos, these porpoise are Toy Vendor salvagers.
By sacrificing a standby Fluffal or Edge Imp, Fluffal Dolphins can bring back a destroyed Toy Vendor onto the battlefield ready to be reactivated. If used for a Fusion, they can fish up a free fusion spell for MK whether by recycling or retrieving one sealed away!
Chappy is a Fluffal Dolphin with a violet and red innertube than a yellow n' orange one. Like her name, she's quite a happy chat loving plush. Chappy has an information network similar to Capone but her informants are the various animals and toys across Megapolis! This dolphin can be quite terrifying however when angered especially if someone insults MK or ruins her favorite treats. All that can be said is Moby Dick isn't the only one who sunk a few ships.
