Fluffuary 2020 day 1: Prinxiety(i'll be doing fics)
Roman had always wondered why the world was various shades of blacks and grey and reds.
Everyone had a soulmate, and everyone only saw their soulmates(and their own, of course) favourite colour until they met them, when the world would burst into colour.
But for Roman, all he saw was black and white. No dark blue, like his brother, Remus, always explained to him, looking like how you'd imagine a bird's singing to sound, or how water feels on your ankles at the beach.
Roman wanted to see dark blue.
Did he not have a soulmate? Was his soulmate incredibly boring? Why couldn't he see the blue's and the greens and the stupid yellows. His world was red and black. And he was sick of it. He was going to find his boring soulmate, if only to see the world in colour.
Virgil's world was just as boring, but he liked it. The red reminded him of the roses his father got his mother for her birthday every year, and the black was hi favourite colour- the colour of his hair and his clothes and his wall and nearly everything else he owned. The rest of it was red. A bright red, a red so bright that it stood out like a horse in a field of goldfish. A beautiful red, he decided, just like he imagined his soulmate to be.
Virgil was at the library with his best friends, Logan and Patton Strew one dull Saturday evening.
Logan was reading some book that Virgil had no care for, and Patton was playing with the puppy with the cute little yellow raincoat. That's what Patton said, anyway. His Soul-Colour was yellow, and he loved it, even if his favourite colour was light blue like sky.
Logan's head suddenly shot up, and he gasped, dropping his book. "
No more green and blue.." He muttered, and Virgil new what that meant- he'd found his soulmate.
A teen around their age ran over to Logan, but Virgil didn't see what happened next.
"Remus? Where in the heaven's are you!" Virgil heard the most wonderful voice ever, and he couldn't help but turn around. The second he did, he saw a beautiful boy, and the world burst with colour as time slowed down.
He saw the marvellous green Logan always talked about, and he saw why dark blue was his favourite, and he saw the light blue in the sky that Patton loved so much. Yellow was fantastic, and so was purple, and pink and he loved it so much.
Roman couldn't believe it. His soulmate was anything but boring! He had stretched ears and many more piercings on his face, and he was wearing ripped black jeans with two or three chains connected with braces hanging off of them, and he had hair hanging in his face and makeup on that was fiercer that the Gods. His shirt had some band name on, something about a chemical romance.
And good lord the colours! They were fantastic, green and blue and yellow and pink and purple. He loved it.
And he saw his brother kissing what he assumed was his soulmate, and as Declan walked in with the coffee he told them to get, he knew he'd found his soulmate too, because the boy playing with the puppy spun around and they locked eyes too.
Roman knew, that from that moment, everything would be okay.
He has his soulmate, and his name was Virgil.
