ok a break down of roxas' birth all the way to citta

-sora is housing his, kairi's and ven's heart heart hotel -so, sora stabs himself w/ keyblade made of the princesses of heart powah -kairi and ven's hearts are released -sora's becomes a heartless -roxas takes sora's body but ven's head because idk he just does haven't figured that out oW I GUESS SORA NEEDED HIS HEAD we'll blame it on kairi ok she's a princess -kairi hugs sora's heartless, returns his body to him princess powah -roxas wakes up in twilight town(?), xenmas finds him, gives him his name, convinces him to join the organization whatevs - roxas is adopted by axel; ven's heart responds to the heart of lea's that's growing inside of axel. they resonate, explaining roxas' sentience and ability to feel things - roxas' diary entries describe him waking up crying, so it can be assumed that he's having dreams/nightmares manipulated by ven's heart. he doesn't recall them because ven's heart is fucked up - xion is created by leaked memories of presumably ven's memories of using the keyblade, tho she is essentially a clone of Roxas - they all become chummy - coma times - after people start targeting xion, roxas isn't happy and starts questioning wtf is up w/ the organization. it doesn't help that axel's being a butt and not telling him anything - xion's existence is causing Roxas to wilt, so they fight and roxas kills xion to absorb her, memories of her disappear. Suddenly able to dual-wield because idk Xion had a real keyblade and b/c roxas absorbed xion, by extension was he able to use xion and his own keyblade - he never quite gets over the trauma of the incident; becomes aware of sora and decides he needs to find him - fosters a hatred for not knowing anything as his naivete is smashed by the previous event, can't trust anyone since Axel is being a butt - that hatred manifests and directs itself towards sora, who is apparently the reason "he isn't supposed to exist". Data for roxas is drawn at some point around now, where Roxas' loathing and need to make Sora suffer the way he does is present in Data!Roxas' code. At this point Roxas is feeling bitter and confused and angry and helpless. - Leaves the Organization in search of Sora and answers. Meets Riku, defeats him once, gets defeated the second time - A digital twilight town is made; Roxas' memories are wiped and reconfigured to fit a lifetime of 15 years in Twilight Town. He lives with a foster older brother whose behavior is based off of Axel to foster trust [hence why you never see his parents and he seems to live alone I AM NOT MAKING HIM AN ORPHAN BUT I ALSO DON'T WANT TO KILL HIM W/ FAKE PARENTS ] - memories taken of Hayner, Pence and Olette are used to forge Roxas' fake friendship with their digital copies. he can never go to the beach because there is no data for the fucking beach - over the course of 7 days, Roxas remembers sora's entire life as namine pieces them together. - He is confronted by both Axel and Namine, who give him two paths. Along w/ Sora's memories, he remembers some of his own in the Organization. Becomes very angry again, but can no longer hate Sora to the extent that he did before because now he knows who Sora is. And sora's a sweetie pie jeez he didn't ask for his best friend to give his heart to darkness or to have to stab himself to save everyone - by the 6th day or so he sees himself starting to fade away, likely due to Sora's close proximity in the lab of the abandoned house in Twilight Town - Roxas takes the knowledge that Namine gives him, that he really wasn't meant to exist, and decides to join with Sora. He still doesn't believe that he wasn't meant to exist; Ven's heart and his own experiences give him an incredibly strong will that allows him to keep himself existing even after he joins with Sora. - Roxas bums in Sora's heart until the end of KH2, officially confronts sora in a battle inside of his heart to see if he was capable of getting through the organization's ranks. When Sora wins, Roxas is satisfied. -later he happily sees Xemnas burn in hell the first time, meets up with Kairi and Namine and has a happy reunion, joins w/ sora again - in DDD Sora meets in him in the DD world where Roxas conveniently downloads all of his memories into Sora, who now knows the whole story - CITTA - b/c roxas saved his memories in sora, he was able to reclaim them in Citta as basis for his own heart's growth. Ven's heart technically still bums w/ Sora but b/c we have a ven it's...well, with ven - roxas undergoes the process of growing his heart back, and after a number of feel-triggering events, now has a heart. - all that's left is a quick coma to stabilize it then voila

4. “You look like you need a hug.”

“Uh, sorry man, can’t say I’m really the kind of guy for hugs. You think I’m soft or somethin’, Roxas?”

"Yeah, I think you're pretty soft." So blunt! He snickers--is he teasing? Who knew. To be honest Roxas wasn't much for hugs either, but they were pretty stabilizing when he was at his worst. "C'mon, you act like it's gonna hurt. Your pride can't be that much of a wimp." It's awkward, but he's gonna go against Axel's demands anyways because he has a gut feeling--his arms are stiff, moving mechanically to wrap around the taller body. Damn his height, just made this seem even weirder. But he recalls nights in the organization, nights when he would see visions of a boy laying still, a boy with his face, watching with nonchalance as his friends were being destroyed..they were just vague dreams, but they'd disturbed Roxas so much that he had probably sought such comforts out from Axel more than once. Not the first time, of course; he wouldn't have known to ask for a hug. But after an initiation from someone else (who had been his first...? The name was on the tip of his tongue, but the face remained elusive), he definitely asked later. Roxas makes a puffed face, smothering his cheek against his friend's coat. "Oh look, you're not dead."
