The date hadn’t exactly gone as planned. It had been lovely, even if I had been a bit too shy to do anything especially intimate. We had chatted and had dinner together, of course, but Jean was so bold and extroverted that it was hard for me to keep up.
Now, as we ran looking for shelter from the rain, he had taken my hand as an excuse to guide me through the busy streets and protect me from the frantic pedestraisn that also wanted to escape the storm.
When he finally stopped, we were protected from a glass roof over our heads that kept us warm. Or as warm as we could be given that we were already drenched since the sudden storm took us by surprise in the middle of our date.
“You okay?” He grinned at me, sweetly wiping raindrops from my face and moving the wet hair that stuck to my face.
“Y-Yes” I was shivering, frozen to the bone even if he didn’t seem as bothered by the cold. “Thank y-you”
“No, you’re not” He grin faltered in favor of a concerned frown as he carefully watched me. “You’re shaking”
Jean rubbed my arms, trying to provide me with some sort of warmth. His kind and empathetic expression suddenly vanished to be replaced with a playful and slightly mischievous one.
“You know what that means” He wiggled his eyebrows, and his boldness once again flustered me. I was already warmer as I felt myself blushing. “We need to cuddle to stay warm”
“Jean...” I complained, but he was already pulling me into a tight embrace.
Despite of all, I chuckled and nuzzled his chest. He was extremely warm despite his wet clothes. He softly laughed himself, squeezing me against him as I relaxed into his touch and welcomed the comforting warmth he exuded.

I watched as Ed fell to the floor, taking the hit that was aimed at me. Trying to stand from the ground, I make to move and protect him, but Alphonse is already standing between his brother and our attacker.
“Ed, are you okay?!” I took him by the arm and helped him sit up.
My eyes quickly landed on Alphonse, relieved to see he was handling it well on his won, before checking on Ed again.
“Yeah…” There was more resignation than pain in his voice as he replied.
He rubbed his head in what seemed embarrassment, perhaps for my concerned staring. I pushed my hand against his shoulder in outrage.
“Ed, why did you do that?!”
“I said I’m fine…”
I clicked my tongue, even if just to hide the fact that my heart was racing. Seeing him fall like that and thinking he could be badly hurt scared me deeply. And knowing it was just to protect me only made it worse.
“Are you an idiot?”
Edward finally looked up at me, since he had been avoiding my eyes. When our gazes met, he showed me an innocent grin that tried to soothe my anger.
“When it comes to you, yeah I am” He chuckled to further lighten the mood.
“Don’t give me that, Edward Elric” I pulled at his arm until the both of us were standing. “Stop being so reckless”
I took a step to help Alphonse in the fight, but Ed tugged at my arm.
“And you be careful” His expression suddenly turned serious as he lovingly squeezed my elbow. “Please”
I gawked at him, surprised by the concern dripping from his voice. But Edward was already running to his brother and using his alchemy to win the fight.

Ed and Roy:
It’s a bit chaotic, but there’s no actual drama
Even if the two of them are really dramatic about everything
“Fullmetal, I told you to be back by nine” “It’s just past ten!!”
You often joke about that with your brother’s coworkers
Riza is always amused by your stories, and everyone laughs at them
That clearly annoys your brother and embarrasses him
But really, Roy has no genuine complaints about Edward
He loves you, takes care of you and treats you well
That is enough for him, to know you’re happy dating Ed
However, that won’t stop him from bugging him all day
You lecture Roy about it, telling him to lay off, that Ed’s great
He reluctantly (or subconsciously) admits to that when he replies
Saying that he wants to keep things that way
“So you’re saying he’s good? You like Ed, don’t you?”
Roy is unamused by your teasing, of course
“You’re friends, aren’t you? My brother and my boyfriend, best friends”
None of them would ever admit that they like each other
The insist that they’re just trying to get along for you
The older brother lecture has obviously happened
Basically as soon as he found out you were dating Edward
Roy was outraged and demanded to have a word with him
As in, he caught you two kissing and had a meltdown
“What are you doing?! Are you two together?”
You tried to calm him down, telling him you were dating
And hence came the myriad of warning words
‘If you hurt Y/N blah blah blah’ ‘You better take care of Y/N…’
In the end, though, they do get along, even if partly for you

And you were pretty happy together
Because you liked each other a lot and understood the other
Also, you were best friends and had lots of fun together
You already knew Edward since he would often hang out with Al
Other than him, you know Al doesn’t really have more family
Except for Winry and Pinako, of course
One day you went to Resenbool to check on Ed’s automails
And they invited you to come along to meet their family
You were a little nervous, but were excited
They had told you a lot about Winry, they were really close to her
So you knew how she was, more or less
When you finally met them, they were a little different than you thought
But just as friendly and kind as you had imagined
Winry was extremely extroverted towards you
“The boys have told me about you! Al won’t stop gushing about how great you are!”
With just one sentence, she manages to embarass the three of you
But you find it heartwarming that they told her about you
She treated you almost like she had known you all her life
But you liked that, it made it easier to get along
And helped you with being not as shy
Winry began rambling about how Ed doesn’t take care of his automail
And told you how they worked and how intricate and cool they were
That helped you talk more too, commenting about the boys
Basically, you got along almost immediately
And found that you had some things in common
So you started talking more and more
It helped that she was so warm and extroverted
Always breaking the ice, linking her arm with yours and such
Also gossiping a bit, which just made you laugh
Alphonse was super happy that you got along with her so quickly
