super loose verse outlining for FMA (B)*
primarily brotherhood-based, as ever, but honestly it could go either way.
first and foremost: that’s certifiably Not™ a human being. I’m somewhere on the fence between some form of chimera (for the whole wing situation), a rather off-the-norm homunculous, or some strange combination therein, but in keeping true to her basic concept, Honey’s not 100% human, at the very least.
following the idea that her mother is the arcane-source in any given verse, I’d say Adaline was a very talented alchemist, possibly from an old civilization— not Xerxes, in this case, but one not terribly dissimilar. a story, a myth, it’s own history which would exist outside the dealings of the Elric’s tale we know and love.
all things considered, the scope of land we see around Amestris in the main story is pretty narrow— I think it’d be fair to assume there’s more “world” to this world beyond the nations we know have coasts (Xing, Aerugo, etc).
Honey’s “father” was, however, human. To what extent she was “born” may be up for debate, but something of his material was used in her creation, regardless, and she is his, no matter what.
Sun-Dae was from a smaller nation past Xing, possibly a controlled territory.
older than she appears. not tremendously, in this case, but her mother didn’t whip her up any time terribly recently, either.
in adapting her ‘witch’-y-ness: similar to other artificial humans we’ve seen, Honey is capable of performing some alchemical / alkahestral ‘marvels’ which don’t quite seem to obey the rules or laws of any known transmutation system. not, perhaps, to the same extent as the Sins, (as I’d imagine whatever her “core” is isn’t quite as refined & powerful as a fully-loaded philosopher’s stone), but nevertheless, those well-versed in either practice could defininitely notice something a little... sus
similar to several other verses: Honey’s main “goal” on some level is probably to find / be reunited with her mother, in time, as the decidedly no-longer-mortal, mysterious woman took off in her own time, but it isn’t the most pressing thing on Honey’s agenda. more like... a hope, as she goes about her strange little life.
beyond that? mostly the same. she’s pursuing as much enjoyment, excitement, and enriching life experiences as she can, with all the big personality and dramatics as ever.
perhaps, this time, with the added (subtextual) level of achieving a truly human life, though she doesn’t actually seem too pressed about the whole ‘artificial being’ thing.
shoutout to my boy albedo kiss kiss
also I think it’s become clear throughout this stream-of-consciousness style post that the homunculous-type-thing won out over chimera. so. there’s that. maybe Adaline tossed in some funky extra pieces just for the fun of it. as a little treat.
