[ARTICLE] BC, DIMENSIONS, AND GOLD STAR ANNOUNCED AS SPONSORS OF SEOUL SPRING FESTIVAL

The Seoul Spring Festival was announced earlier in the year by the local government as a city-wide event taking place from March 30th to April 5th. The city of Seoul will be hosting a number of events over the course of the week, as will private businesses.

Recently, it was announced that entertainment companies BC Entertainment, Dimensions Entertainment, and Gold Star Media will all be sponsoring the festival in part and the idols on each company’s roster will be performing at one of two concerts hosted during the run of the festival. Tickets to the live concert events will cost ₩30000 each and fans unable to attend the live event can access an official live stream of both concerts for ₩15000.

it had been an unfortunate incident really, having someone bump over her and spill half their glass of wine over her dress and while minah had gently assured the person that it had been no trouble and that they shouldn’t worry too much about is as it has been a simple accident, she couldn’t say the wet fabric sticking to her skin was very comfortable, or that she didn’t mourn the fact that her dress was ruined.

“hey sorry, you think you could hand me a few of those napkins?” she asked the first person she came across at at the bar, pointing at the napkin holder right beside them. “i’m trying to salvage whatever i still can.” a gentle sigh escaped her. “i hope it won’t stain too bad, i’d hate to have to throw this dress away by the end of the night.”

jaein finds it odd to be placed at a charity gala when she feels like she’s done nothing charitable. she’s mostly here to donate her status as an idol and gather attention for other higher ups, but she can’t help but feeling uncomfortable. she’s standing around some round table with a glass of champagne in her hands that’s untouched because it’s all for the show anyway.

“i think if i finally pay back all my debt and get enough money, i’d donate to an organization that supports single mothers,” she comments to nobody in particular. it’s always been something on the back of her mind, but she still has her own trainee debt to pay back. six years accumulated to a lot of costs that even lucid’s recent success couldn’t live up to. “what about you? have you ever thought about donating? or perhaps you already have, and in that case maybe i’m just not checking the news enough.”

Jiwon didn’t find much enjoyable these days, staying home whenever her company didn’t have her scheduled for anything. Whether or not staying home was a cover-up from going out alone into the public again or was what she preferred was a mystery. Either way, she was used to the feeling of being alone when she wasn’t in the comfort of her group. The familiarity of the silence was familiar didn’t stop the desire of a friend at times like this. At least there would be someone to distract her from her thoughts. With a sigh, her eyes scanned the area, moving from different food stalls when she saw a familiar face. Sooah was one of the members of Fuse, a group Jiwon had followed since their debut. Countless of broadcasts fell victim to her fangirling, so it’s widely known that Jiwon wanted to become friends with Fuse, especially Sooah. However, no development had been made in that, as neither had bothered to engage in a conversation. However, none of those facts mattered, as there was an opening for her to change that. Fueled by determination and the lack of press, she decided to approach Sooah, hoping to catch her eye before reaching her by waving.

art, a subject for fools drowning in their wealth and idealistic image of elegance. contemporary art was the pinnacle, crowding together flocks of phone intellectuals seeking the novel pieces to cling to their living room walls. they were the victims that equated the grandeur of the piece to the zeros attached to the price tag, and pieces of art were nothing more than a mere accessory adding to their growing collection of rare crocodile birkins and lavish cow-hide boy bags. it was the propaganda for the modern day rich customers, a flea market for them to oust one another to see who could scrape their way to the peak of the mountain as korea’s next top gangnam mom.

the whole exhibit is a ploy for gold star to constitute a more positive image on minjung after a heeding, destructive wave of criticism followed the first few instagram posts of her art - a manipulation to pivot her persona into the brooding artist, like a modern day basquiat trapped in confines of a van gogh society. she’s at the mercy of her company, bound by the strings of her contract like pinocchio except her stagnant nose provides no insight to her silent protests and reservations. the champagne flute intertwined in her slender fingers embody her chirpy cricket sidekick, the taste of the cheap champagne and sweet raspberries lingers in the back of her tongue, a reminder that everything bitter must have a sweet companion - the thought that fixes the glazed smile on her lips.

there’s a shadow of another person next to her, like a meager bystander, settling down, observing the passerbys as she takes another sip of the golden liquid. no eyes directed to this area, and a yawn escapes her lips, her heavy eyes and tight lipped mouth disregarding any hint of feigned interest for the entirety of the exhibit. “all this art is so ‘je ne sais quoi’ says the lifeless bodies in the room. people have such refined taste, dipping their frenchie fries in a sauce of horse shit, but what do you think captain?” her lips curve into an inviting smile, finding her own blue fairy for the night.

"ah, taste this." jiyoo held the small plate of snacks that she had out to the other idol. if there was a day she wasn't going to miss during the festival, it was going to be the food tasting. something she woke up early for. jiyoo arrived when it first started and she had been having a time of it.

"oh, you should go to this other booth too-" then she had to force herself to calm down and relax. offering, a half apologetic smile at how excited she was. "i'’m sorry..i just love food...so i got a little ahead of myself but really, it's all good..i think i like the stuff from the other booth better. have you been here long?" after that little tacked on bit, jiyoo forced herself to stop talking so the other could get a word in.

he’s been told by chae not to be too conspicuous when coming out to the cherry blossom festival, just so that they could spend some quality time together out in the open, without having to worry too much about strange looks and gossip articles that rumour over celebrity relationships like bees to honey, and dojun quietly finishes off his overall look for the festival with a mask securely around his face, putting on sunglasses and wrapping a scarf around his neck, on top of a wide trench coat and a purposefully slouching figure, even though winter was just about fading away and spring was slowly taking its place. it would be cold but yet not too cold--a good degree of 17 degree celsius made his dressing with a hat, mask, trench coat, scarf and gloves a perfect getup for someone trying to hide from the crowd.

or so he thinks. jun doesn’t notice the whispers or the curious stares that follow his way each time he shuffles in the festival, his mask hot against his face as he peered around for any trace of chaeyeon. he spots her easily enough, and excitement clearly arises within the contours of his hidden features as he waves, making his way over to her as quickly as he could through the crowd with his bulky coat and get up. “chae.” he grins, eager to grasp her hand loosely even amongst the crowd milling about them. “see--like you said, inconspicuous.”

sung didn’t care for fashion as much as gold star wanted him to. he did like fashion, these days, but he never wanted to base part of his career around it. though he understood the business model behind having him dip into the fashion world, it didn’t get rid of the slimy feeling beneath his skin from being decked out in largely overpriced dior clothing.

the fashion show earlier was quite nice. at least there was that.

he found himself wandering around the cocktail party, drink in hand. despite drinking, on occasion, he still wasn’t sure what the cocktail he’d been offered was. considering he felt more at work than he had at the fashion show itself, sung wasn’t planning on drinking it, either, so he supposed it didn’t matter what it was.

when his eyes landed on the familiar face of an idol, he approached. “hi, would you like this?” sung held out the drink in his hand. “i promise it’s not poison.” his eyebrows furrowed. “that makes it sound like it’s definitely poison, doesn’t it? um-- sorry.” on the balls of his feet, eyes wide, energy ran through him again, balled into effort to fix his mistake. “uh, it got handed to me, by a waiter. i... i don’t even know where to get poison.”
