I heard they're reforming the DAWNGUARD! Vampire hunters or something...in the old fort near Riften!
I'm thinking about joining up myself!
Just kidding. <3 I actually ended up becoming a vampire lord. Being a vampire lord just makes things easier. The vampiric grip ability amuses me greatly, especially when I get to send Frost Trolls and Folmer off of cliffs and watch them plummet to their deaths. However, I am getting pretty sick of the guards saying something about the Dawnguard every time I walk into a town. Surprisingly, even before we got the Dawnguard extension for Skyrim, I've never heard the guards say anything about being adventurers, or taking arrows to the knee. This, Internet my love, is mildly disappointing.
We've had Skyrim in the house essentially since we moved in, but I ended up loathing it, despite my love for the Elder Scrolls series, because John and Pat (Back when he was still staying with us) would take 12 hour shifts playing it. So when I would leave for work in the evenings, there was Skyrim. When I came home in the morning from work, there was Skyrim. When I went to sleep, there was Skyrim. When I woke up, there was Skyrim. When I got out of the shower, there was Skyrim. When I got dressed for work, there was Skyrim. And then, when I went to work again, THERE WAS STILL FUCKING SKYRIM.
That was my life for about three months. It was quite annoying, because at the time I had an obsession with Halo Reach and wanted to shoot bitches, but couldn't, because Skyrim was in my way. (That, and having the TV on 24 hours a day RAPED the electric bill.)
After we kicked Pat out, John eventually lost his obsession with Skyrim and I was once more able to play Halo. Months had passed, and then I had forgotten my vendetta against Skyrim, so I decided to pick it up and give it a shot.
It was at that moment, Internet, that my heart was stolen.
I've been playing for a little over a month now, and I have accomplished the following:
- Became the leader of the Thieves Guild
-Became the Leader of the Assassin's Guild
- Killed Dragons and shit, and then defeated Alduin (But refused to kill Paarthurnax because he is my favorite dragon in the game, so Delphine can go fuck herself sideways.)
- Got an awesome mace from Molag Bal
And I've done numerous other things, but if I was going to sit here and list them, I'd be here all day.
However, with all of the things I've accomplished, every time I clear out a quest, I end up adding three more to my list. @.@ I don't understand how it even happens. I've even stopped talking to people. But for some unholy reason, people keep coming up and talking to me, and my quest list keeps growing...and growing...and growing...
And just as a side note, FUCK CRIMSON NIRNROOTS. That so far has been the one quest that has done nothing but get on my nerves. I haven't completed it yet, and it keeps staring at me every time I open the quest menu. Perhaps I'll complete it today, just so I can get the damn thing out of the way. I doubt it'll even do me any good, I'll probably end up getting something horrible and definitely not worth my time. Ah, well.
So on the topic of Skyrim, the group and I have decided that we're all going to learn the Tale of Tongues song and the opening chant. It is going to be EPIC. Eris, John, my sister Ashlyn, Eris's boyfriend Tom, our friend Vince and I are going to be singing, and then we have Tom playing guitar, and Justin is going to be in the background playing war drums. I'm super excited, and I can't wait until we actually get the project up and going.
On a non-Skyrim but still about gaming note, I remember why I stopped playing Halo. Eris and I decided to play Halo for the first time in forever, and the first thing someone asked me was,
"Hey Conundrum, what does N Y X stand for?"
I couldn't so anything but facepalm. Internet, if I had a nickle for every time I've been asked that question on Reach, I'd be fucking rich. Along with the times I've been called a Squeaker because people neglect to realize that I'm not a 13 year old boy, but actually a 20 year old female.
They also apparently don't realize that Nyx isn't an acronym, she is the goddess of the night.
John is currently in a skirt, river dancing to the Dropkick Murphys in the kitchen. I'm not sure how I feel about this. The things that have been seen...
We have officially dubbed John and Justin the Man-Maids of the apartment, seeing as neither of them have jobs. So they clean. And together, they have decided that it would be a good idea to come up with a theme song for themselves.
It starts off with, "Man-maids, assemble!"
And then they proceed to cross their arms over their chests, lean into each other's shoulders, and sing:
Anyways internet, we have some guys that own the video game store down by the town square coming over for some Magic: The Gathering later tonight, and so I'm going to get starting on making the apartment presentable to guests.
