Yesterday I submitted my interest form to go to Phoot Camp 2013. For all who don't know what "Phoot Camp" is here goes (ps this is stolen straight from their website because I suck at writing lol): "Phoot Camp is an invite-only creative retreat and photography workshop hosted by Laura Brunow Miner, founder of Pictory and former editor in chief of JPG Magazine. (Yes, thats P-H-O-O-T, a nod to O’Reilly’s Foo Camp, a retreat for the best and brightest in the tech industry.) Picture forty-eight hours of photo walks, portrait challenges, slideshows, s’more making, and general creative collaboration. Phoot Camp started in October of 2009 at a campground in the bay area. Virb (the company I used to create my site after seeing how minimalistic and awesome Daniel Seung Lee's website was) sponsored the 2010 and 2011 events and we were able to upgrade to an estate in the hills outside Los Angeles and then an RV park in Marfa, Texas, and also to this lovely website built on the Virb platform."
I actually was informed about it when I went through Daniel's Website. He uploaded photos and made links to other fellow Phoot Camp members websites.
I mean I know I'm probably not going to get invited to go since I'm not a well known photographer yet, but hey...its not until 2013...so guess what!...I'm going to work my ass off to get picked. I'm going to buy more photography books, learn more things about photography, get more equipment, produce more work, and get my name out there more. I think this will be not only a fun, but a learning experience. I'll be able to meet some awesome photographers and travel as well!

"Why Phoot Camp? Life is about doing great work with our friends, if we make it happen. Creatives can tend to be independent folks, but you can’t achieve your wildest dreams on your own. While we don’t always know who these important people in life are going to be or how we’re going to do the best work of our careers, getting a bunch of talented strangers in the same place seems like a good start to finding out." - Phoot Camp
p.s. I'm working on an upcoming project which will feature tons of bloggers, videographers, rappers, models, painters, photographers, etc. It's entitled "The Revolution" I've always wanted to do an over the top photoshoot. You know, something that made people see that I'm not just a person that takes pictures for some cash and has the models bounce. With my photography my sole purpose is to turn life into art. I chose the thought of "The Revolution" because I feel as though nowadays people just want to conform and not really live up to their full potential. Whether it be because of social issues, self doubt, etc. Lately through networking and sending out tons of business cards I linked up with some really cool people. Each person that I chose really stuck out like a sore thumb lol. The basis behind this revolution is for creative minds to work together and show society that its ok to go outside of the box, its ok to be different, its ok to set goals for yourself that you feel as though you may not even be able to accomplish. The original date I had scheduled was June 22nd. I'm pretty sure I won't start in time because I want this project to be perfect. If you know anyone that is interested in being a participant, feel free to contact me here, or cell etc. All of my contact information is on my website
