365 Marvel Comics Paper Cut-Out SuperHeroes - One Hero, Every Day, All Year…
Supporting Character Supplemental - Reader & Foray
The Inhuman adventurer known only as Reader originated from the secluded Inhuman settlement of Orolan deep in rural Greenland. Unlike their cousins from Attilan, the Inhumans of Orolan were much more sparing in subjecting their children to the mutagenic properties of the Terrigen Mist. Only a selected handful were put through Terrigenesis so to provide warriors to safeguard their isolation.
Young Reader was one such Inhuman yet his transformation bore unexpected results. Terrigenesis bestowed him a type of reality manipulation wherein he can manifest into being anything he reads. Following an incident where the young Inhuman read about fire and accidentally burned his home down, the elders of Orolan deemed the youth and his powers far too dangerous. As a result, the lad’s eyes were burned out with a hot iron and he was banished from the settlement, sent out into the wild to die.
Yet young Reader did not die, rater he survived and taught himself to read brail. He had a series of brail tiles constructed for himself through which he could activate a variety of different powers. These powers have included the ability to teleport over vast distances, freeze time, and even instantly kill a given target. Reader additionally befriended a dog named Foray and made a brail tile that enables him to see through Foray’s eyes.
Reader went on to become a renown tracker, mercenary and explorer. He has loaned his services to the likes of The Ennilux Corporation, The Inhumans of New Attilan and the law firm of Mathew Murdock.
The inhuman hero and his intrepid dog first appeared in the pages of Inhuman #4 (2014).
