Have you considered asking him directly about Stonka and Poreforblishington O'Toole? (For reference I was the one who was corresponding with you about Stonka being the Bulgarian Water Bull a few years back; forgot my original login since then!)
Oh, pinball-lizard, so you're indecisive-grenadier! I was wondering where you'd went and why you'd been absent amidst all this Kaneko mania. I think if he were asked about Forbi, he'd give a similar response to what he did with Stonka*. But, along these lines, I think we've known for a long time that Forbi is equally invented and Stonka's and Holy Ghost's examples are all the more evidence that not every demon in Megaten is genuine. Forbi's trail seem to stop at Toshiya Nakaoka's 1968 "Sorcery and Witchcraft of the World."

Did you actually reach out to a Bulgarian professor to ask about it? That's some amazing initiative! Regarding Stonka, I've gotten questions about it before, and thanks to a hint from one of my followers at that time, I kind of pieced together what it really is. Stoneka appears to be a fictional yokai introduced in the 1973 Japanese publication *The Encyclopedia of World Yokai*. It's got this setting where its single eye turns people to stone, and the name is a playful pun derived from Japanese: "Stone" for stone, and "ka" from "ka" in "sekika" meaning petrification.
In many ways, it's more of a relief than a disappointment that all of these are made up. At least we know!
