Warlenys + Artist/Writer AU + Mutual Pining, maybe? :)
Hi! Thank you so much for this ask - and for waiting five million years for me to get this fic written. Y’all all know I’m a mess when it comes to these things but I get around to everything eventually so here we are. Remind me to write everything with the premise of mutual pining because this was really fun to write. I hope you enjoy! Tagging the Warleggan fam: @upstartpoodle, @ticketybooser, @lashbrook11
3, 5, 7, 8 & 9 for the FE3H meme?
Who did you S rank first?
I went for Alois’ ending! It was a really sweet platonic ending, and Alois is just the best uncle figure around!!!! :D
Favourite paired ending?
It’s a three way tie between Dedue/Dimitri, Dedue/Mercedes, and Hubert/Ferdinand!
Favourite Blue Lions character?
Dedue! He’s so amazing, and so underutilized by the story he’s in. Life just throws terrible thing after terrible thing at him, and while he’s clearly not unaffected by these things, not able to be as carefree or trusting as his peers, he doesn’t stop these things that happened to him from being a good person and continuing to pursue his interests. There was so much more room for him to grow and affect change, but I feel like his role in the story was harmed by the fact that his post-timeskip revival was not guaranteed. That meant that the post-timeskip era wasn’t allowed to have Dedue be important to the story, just a background bit of goodness or sadness for everyone.
Favourite Golden Deer character?
Claude! Claude’s character is so unique -- he’s mature, mischievous, cunning, patient, and so many other things. Learning about his connection to his half Foldlan/half Almayran heritage and how he copes with those cultures clashing is incredibly interesting, and it’s due to his presence that the themes of racism get to be explored within at least one of the main stories. And again -- he’s a fun presence, and I love strategizing by his side, hearing his feelings on the war, ragging on Lorenz, and just being a cool dude.
Favourite Black Eagles character?
Hubert! The dude is maniacal, menacing, and just has so much fun with it! He loves helping Edelgard, doing some semi-heinous acts, and scaring the shit out of anyone who would mess with him! He’s not without complexities, but he’s also not at all squeaky clean and the narrative makes no secret out of that -- in fact, the narrative has so much fun with that, and that’s why I love him!
Dirk Dreamer: I know you’re deflecting by making jokes about how hot you are.
Lilith Pleasant: [while crying] It’s not a joke! I’m a legit snack!

People say "I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy" about the lamest things I've ever heard. If you wouldn't wish one day of food poisoning on your worst enemy, you don't have enemies.
— George
Geoffrey Charles: On a scale from ‘Damn, Daniel’ to 'Fre sha voca do’, how are you feeling?
Valentine: In between 'It’s an avocado, thanks’ and 'How did you defeat Captain America’ but as a solid answer I would say 'I don’t need no degree to be a clothing hanger’. How about you, Ursula?
Ursula: Probably 'Road work ahead’.
George: I don’t know what language this is, but I certainly don’t speak it.
