did i mention you can use these bad bitches to reanimate the motherfucking ender dragon? because oh yes you motherfucking can do that. in fact, after i get her sequenced, i’m gonna go stash my new best gal, a dispenser, and some trip wire in the vicinity of a certain somebody’s gorgeously constructed home base.

Need to sleep but don't wanna because I'm playing with Forestry bees and trying to get a pure strain of cultivated bees. Well. Ideally I want a pure strain of every kind of bee, but cultivated bees are a proof of concept and the first bee I have access to with a decent chance of multiple honey combs, and therefore multiple honey drops, per queen. It keeps reverting back to common or progressing to diligent, though. I can deal with common, they've got a 35% chance of a honey comb per instance of the queen ticking down instead of cultivateds' 40%, but diligents drop stringy combs instead and those have a massively reduced chance of giving me honey drops when I put them through the centrifuge. I need honey drops to beealyze my bees, dammit! I don't want to go on blind guessing for my breeding attempts!
I haven’t stopped building, just forgot about tumblr for a bit. Heh... Well, here’s a freebee~ literally. I built an industrial-scale bee lab to really explore what the forestry mod can do, and my mass-production model works very well, and quite efficiently too. On the roof, I use solar collectors to gather energy, which gets transformed into IC2 and BC energy. It runs my server room, and all the various equipment throughout the facility. Per my normal building code, all piping and conduit runs through the plenum. And yes, I am crazy enough to build utilizing plausible building support structure.
The upper floor houses the actual laboratory, test alvearies/greenhouse area, and server room... as well as a few mechanical odds and ends. The lower floor contains all the functional stuff... Mainly the mass production floor, oil refinery (since fossil fuels and other non-renewable stuffs are mass produced here), honey pressing room (since it's just 'more awesomer' to store it in a quantum tank ;P), and the area that handles my uranium processing. The facility contains a perfect and exact 64 alvearies, all neatly wrapped in a relatively small, compact, and efficient waste-not want-not facility.
Where it really gets cool is how I've handled all the routing to make it fully-automated. ...because nothing in minecraft is actually cool unless it's automated. After all, what are you going to do? Get other players to do your dirty-work? ...right. Well as I was saying...
The server room is composed of six different ME systems: - Mass production frame controller - proven frame type - Testing frame controller - nova frame type - Mutigen controller - keeps mutigen stocked in test chambers - Honeycomb controller - inputs all output from alvearies directly into centrifuges - Bee library - Specifically and ONLY for bees; indexed inventory, need I say more? - 'All things stuff-related' server - Basically stores all my shit that doesn't fit in any above category.
And rather than give myself a headache with configuring export busses, I just use a regular good-ol-fashioned storage bus on all the frame housings and mutators. Keeps it simple, I can see the entire system from an access terminal, and no other inventory, buffer, or storage necessary. I always have the exact number I need. :) No unwanted lag with overload. I use the same system for the honeycombs and centrifuges, the only difference being I have a transfer buffer from that ME network into the stuff server that is configured to transfer any product from bees that ISN'T honeycomb, and won't, therefore, centrifuge.
So complicatedness and geekiness aside... Cool, huh? c:
