A soft idea for you given the yusei brainrot you have inflicted. Yusei bonding with Yuma and Kari, specifically about their parents. Trying to make sure the kiddos can keep thinking of their happy memories of them because even if they're gone for good he wants them to smile when they think of them.

Bonus points : Yuma starts to latch onto him as a sort of big brother and Yusei encourages him even when he makes very not smart dueling choices, while he helps Kari get photos for her news reports when he's out and about.

PLEEEEASE 🥺 god yusei and kari would be such good friends in general they are TALKING ABOUT MOTORCYCLES TOGETHER IM CERTAIN!!!! he would be such a kind presence in the Tsukumo kids' lives...

BIG fan of psuedo-big brother Yusei too, REALLY GOOD (honestly yuma and yusei have similar hair too??!? the truth is out there....) Yuma needs all the dueling mentors he can get and Yusei's the perfect guy for the job...

It’s barely been any time at all since Ryouga found out that he... what he might be. But it feels like it’s been an eternity.

He still hasn’t told Yuma. He has no excuse, and that fact alone makes him feel like a traitor, sickens him to his core, but every time he tries, the words splutter and die in his throat and he always, always retreats. Like a coward.

But he doesn’t want to believe it. That he could be... a Barian... is too awful for him to even comprehend. It makes his head spin, both that he might not even be human, and that he might be one of the enemy, one of those despicable beings who’s done nothing but hurt him and Rio and everyone they seem to come close to. What does that make him?

And what does that make them? The self-hatred that feels like it’s choking him does nothing to stop the questions slipping into his mind, uninvited. The Barians... it can’t be that he’s been wrong about them all this time, right?

Astral has always been a mystery to Ryouga. The fact that he fought the Barians felt natural, considering that they were nothing more than evil creatures who’d tried to destroy his world. But now, a part of Ryouga wonders... if there’s more to it than that.

He hates himself for it. He feels dirty, traitorous, evil.

“...Astral.”  It’s reluctantly that he greets the spirit today, finding it strange that Yuma is absent from his side. Everything should be fine, but Ryouga’s heart hammers in his chest, like he’s scared of being caught. “What do you need with me?”

And if so, then this kid was really  missing out on some fun! Because all this ‘jungle gym’ equipment was actually training equipment for Yuya and his friend’s own dueling style and he’d love to show this newcomer how some of it was done!
