Summary: When Sam discovers that people are disappearing from a private couples resort, Team Free Will go undercover to investigate. Dean's skills are needed elsewhere to give them access, so it's up to Sam and Cas to pretend to be a happy couple both at the resort and on the 3-day cruise.
On the ship, without a way to communicate with Dean, they have to figure out what is abducting people before another passenger goes missing. Dealing with limited resources and time constraints, Sam is determined to save the next victim -- he just hopes that he isn't too distracted by his "fake" relationship to do the job.
So I have a list of 20 tropes and I like to use my 20 sided die to pick one or two of them and see what I can actually come up with. It's a nice practice for writing and sometimes I actually finish them to the point I feel they are "done" Last night in my hast to get words in for Nano I rolled two that worked really well together.
I did not edit or beta, or spell check. I just decided to throw it up there. So you get this with all my half asleep writing on my phone flaws.
Enjoy!

Business AU & Forced Marriage
Dean growled as he rounded on his John. The look of shock on his father's face quickly hidden beneath the cool calm demeanor of the ruthless businessman John had become. There were rarely times that Dean would go against his father but Sammy was where he drew a line.
"You will do no such thing. Sammy has his entire life ahead of him! He wants to do his own thing." Dean refused to let their father manipulate Sam into sticking around.
"Dean this is what you and your brother were born to do. It's the family business."
"No. Not for him. I won't let you do this to him."
Dean watched as the corner of John's mouth twitched and Dean couldn't help but feel like a fly caught in a web.
"This merger will go through Dean."
"Not like--" John silenced Dean by holding his hand up.
"If you truly want your brothers freedom to choose his own path you must take his place."
John took a seat at his large desk, framed by the city-scape behind him through a wall of windows. He picked up his tumbler of bourbon and sipped it while watching Dean.
Dean stood dumbstruck. "You can't be serious."
"As a heart attack."
"But--"
"But nothing, Dean. Your passion for your brothers chance to make his own path in the world has changed my mind. He will be free to go off to Stanford, I'll of course make sure everything he could need is taken care of, and you will wed the Novak son."
"Son?" Dean's face heated. He never kept his sexuality a secret but he and his dad never really acknowledged it.
"Yes. You will stop it with your playboy ways and settle down. Don't act like you weren't expected to settle down, eventually."
"Yeah, on my own time."
"Well son, this is part of business, an opportunity rose and I will be damned if I don't take it."
"You're gonna force me to marry someone I've never even set eyes on before?"
"If not you, then Sam."
"He doesn't even like guys!"
"You think the Milton girl married the Knight boy because she loved him? Don't you pay attention? She got her "friend" Meg a job as her personal assistant. If she could do it so could Sam."
"This is beyond fucked up, even for you. Mom never would've--"
"You're mother's not here! You either accept this marriage or Sam will." John looked him over and Dean recognized the subtle look of triumph on his father's face that he sees in the boardroom when John knows he's won an acquisition.
Dean deflated. He had walked into a trap the moment he stepped foot in the office. John knew weaknesses. It's how he came from nothing to become one of the largest most powerful corporations in the world. He wondered if this was John's plan the entire time, wondered if John was ever really going to force Sam into it.
"Fine. I'll do it. But I want the lawyers to draw up a contact to make sure you hold up your end of the bargain. And an NDA for any one that even gets a wiff of this. I don't want Sam to know."
John grinned wide, "Of course. Always the martyr for Sammy. I'll have the lawyers on it first thing in the morning. You'll be meeting with Novak next weekend. A quick trip to Paris where you bump into each other at one of their clubs. With the cameras that are always around you we need to make sure it looks natural."
"A plane ride wasn't part of the deal. And what do you mean natural? There is nothing natural about any of this!" John stood and stared Dean down.
"You will do as you're told in this matter. I know what I'm doing. Your flight is already booked, Garth will get you all your information."
Dean clenched his jaw. That settled it then. If the flight was already booked and John had involved Dean's assistant, Garth, already, it was his plan the entire time.
"Yes, sir." Dean ground out before turning away and storming from his father's office.
Alright, I was in the mood to write, but not get into any of my current WIP’s, so I was scrolling though my old inbox prompts and this was the one that my muse decided needed to be answered first. It probably helped that I just wrote and will be posting later a DCJ fic. So thank you, @unforth-ninawaters for this prompt you sent me ages ago, I finally filled it and I hope that it isn’t terrible since I wrote it and didn’t bother with having anyone beta it. So all mistakes are obviously mine.
If you want to read it over on Ao3 the link is here.
Dean wasn’t really one to do over the top celebrations, he wasn’t. However he wanted to make the night perfect for his boyfriends. He made the reservations to take a boat out overnight on the lake not far from where they lived. He knew it was a large enough that even with all the smaller boats that would come out that night to watch the fireworks they would be only one of a handful that would end up staying on the lake overnight. After five years, and all the shit they had to go through, it was a miracle that Dean was even able to keep Cas and Jimmy around for so long. Dean patted the pocket that held the two rings carefully nestled in one box. He smiled and hauled the box of supplies along with the large rolling cooler onto the boat.Dean knew that Cas wasn’t really big on surprises and Jimmy loved them. Dean had only told them that they all needed to take the next day off work because that night he had plans. When he told them, Jimmy’s eyes light up in excitement and said “It’s New Year’s Eve, Dean, none of us work tomorrow.” at the same time Cas asked carefully, “What kind of plans?” Dean kissed both men and smiled softly, “You’re right Jimmy.” then turned to Cas, “Special plans, it’s our anniversary after all.”
Dean had all the provisions on their boat and went to get the twins. His heart was beating fast and his mind was moving at a mile a minute with how wrong everything could go. He picked the twins up, he explained he already packed all the things that they needed and took care of it, they just needed to get in the car.Right before the turn off to the lake he stopped and asked them to put on their blindfolds that he brought along.“Kinky.” Jimmy smirked and put his on. Cas glared at him. “Please, Cas? I really want this to be a surprise. It’s a good one, I promise.” Cas sighed, “Fine. But you know how I feel about this.”Dean leaned over and kissed him softly, “I’ll make it up to you, babe.”Once they parked Dean took each of their hands and carefully led them to the boat and ignored Jimmy’s squeal of happiness and Cas’ grumbling.Dean positioned them so that they could see the balloons tied to the deck, “Alright, you can remove the blindfolds now.”Dean held his breath as he watched their faces. Jimmy was lit up with a happy smile and Cas’ eyes shined as he took in the decorations, minimal and enough to believe it was only to celebrate New Years and not also their anniversary. “You did this all by yourself, Dean?” Cas asked as Jimmy bowled into Dean and kissed him hard. “Of course I did. I wanted tonight to be special.” Dean looked down at his feet as Jimmy started to walk around the deck of the boat. Dean felt hands on his chin and was moved to look into Cas’ eyes. “Thank you, Dean.” Cas’ kiss was soft but lingering and Dean basked in the gentle heat.Dean followed Jimmy, “How long have you been planning this, Dean? Getting one of these cabin cruisers for rent is hard to do on short notice.” Dean smirked, “You would know?” Jimmy put an arm around his waist, “I may have looked into it for Independence Day.” Just as Dean went in for a kiss a movement of color caught his eye. He turned his head just in time to see the largest bunch of balloons to float up and away from where he thought he had tied them securely. He watched the ribbons sway and dance in the wind before closing his eyes tightly, feeling his lips quiver as a few hot tears burned behind his eyelids. He wasn’t even sure why he was having the reaction he was. He just knew that it no longer felt perfect. Jimmy pulled him closer and held him tight. “Dean, it’s okay. It’s just a few balloons, everything is still perfect. Thank you so much.” Dean took deep breaths taking in the scent of Jimmy where his nose was buried in this neck. The feel of Cas coming up from behind him to wrap two more strong arms around him helped calm him more. It was only a few more moments before he was in control enough to look at his boyfriends and smile. “Let’s go find a good spot on the lake before it gets too dark, don’t want to miss the fireworks.” Dean moved to start the boat and the twins followed. The fireworks were slated to start at midnight, each year the show started with a ten second countdown, fireworks bursting in the shape of numbers until midnight. Dean sat on a blanket staring up at the sky, both his boyfriends curled up next to him. The countdown started and Dean tensed a little, both the twins looked up at him with curious eyes. “I’ll be right back.” Dean stood up. “Dean, you’ll miss the countdown.” Cas urged him to sit back down. “I’m just gonna grab a beer from the cooler.” Jimmy looked over a few feet away, just out of arms reach the cooler sat, and nodded. Dean quickly retrieved the open bottle of wine and the three glasses and handed each of his boyfriends glasses then poured them all a glass as the number five light up the sky. They could hear people on and around the lake yelling the count down. They watched as the number four burst in blue colors, Dean reached for his pocket and palmed the box.The number three light up the sky with reds, Dean pulled the box out of his pocket. The number two was sparks of white across the night sky, Dean took a deep breath. The number one was red, white, and blue as it exploded, Dean set his glass down out of the way. Everyone yelled “Happy New Year” as the sky lit up with the words and a firework that looked like a confetti ball that dropped “confetti” in more fireworks that shot off in all directions. Both twins had leaned in and two pairs of lips were soft against his. Dean backed up a little and looked at both twins who were watching him. He held out the box in one hand and opened it in the other, “Happy Anniversary.”Both twins gasped and looked up at him. “Are you…” Jimmy looked at Cas who was staring at Dean. “I know I can’t marry you both, but I want to. This is my commitment to you both. If you accept, if you want to spend the rest of our lives together. If you say yes, no matter what, I will always consider you both my husbands.” Dean’s heart beat was so loud he was surprised the twins didn’t hear it. They looked at him, then at one another, then back to him before saying at the same time, “Yes.” Dean sighed and smiled as he took the rings and slid each one on their left ring fingers. Cas looked up at Dean and kissed him fiercely before pulling back, “We will get you a ring. Or two even, you’re our, our husband always and forever.” Dean smiled as Jimmy pulled him into a kiss of his own. Mumbling against Dean’s lips, “I love you. We love you.” Dean’s heart swelled with emotion and he hoped that it was dark enough that his husbands didn’t see the tears running down his face.
@emani-writes asked me this regarding Dean and Cas: “Better question: who climbs into whose lap for an enthusiastic first kiss?“
So here are my first thoughts on that.
Maybe Dean climbs into Cas' lap with false confidence and lays one on Cas, but when Cas is so stunned he doesn't respond right away Dean gets flustered and embarrassed and tries to apologize and get up; Cas grips Dean's hips or thighs tightly and won't let him go until Dean looks at him again, at which point he reaches up and cups Dean's face and slowly pulls Dean down (to give him time to say no) to give him a delicious kiss and then ofc it has to end with their foreheads together as they breath heavy and smile softly at one another before they go completely nuts and fuck each other's brains out.
Or, Cas realizes that Dean will never take that first step so he decides that he just has to do it himself and Dean is rambling on about something that Cas can't stand listening to anymore so he gets up and slips onto Dean's lap and just goes for it. Dean of course catches on quickly and kisses him back, not touching Cas though cause he isn't quite sure what's happening yet. When Cas ends the kiss and sits back a little Dean looks shocked and about ready to bolt as he breathlessly asks “What was that for?”
Cas smiles and tells him “I've heard that story a million times, Dean. I figured this was the only way to stop you from telling it again. I am also fairly confident that you wanted to kiss me for a while now but have been too scared to. So I figured two birds with one stone.”

Review:
Okay look, I can’t honestly give you a biased review of this fic since it is my own. However it is a fantastic fic about two people who have suffered major supernatural trauma and overcome it. Then together they have found a life and more importantly happiness together.
So read it. It really is amazing. You’ll enjoy. Don’t get attached to the chicken though.
I saw that you had seven but I was only able to see or make out six of them. So I hope it isn’t too much of a disappointment!
Deanstood across the street of his apartment in his pajamas, coat, snowboots and his bag that held what he assumed would be all his worldlypossessions now. His laptop was a reassuring weight against his thighas he pulled the blanket further around his shoulders as the windblew.
Itwas already below freezing and the forecast called for snow later inthe day, looking at the sky Dean knew it would be sooner than theymeteorologists predicted. He clutched his phone tight against hischest as he watched the fire truck come to a halt in front of hisapartment.
Itwas barely noon but Dean had only been asleep since about ten. He wasso tired. He was sure that he should be freaking out about now but hewas sure that his past moving so often, and not having the luxury ofhaving too many physical possessions, helped him to let go ofeverything that was currently going up in smoke in his apartment.
Surprisinglyhe was the only one in the unit that was at home. He was sure thatthere were others that worked at night. Yet here he was, alone on theside of the street as complete strangers tried to see what washappening while also keeping their distance from the man whosupposedly just lost everything.
Hewatched the firefighters file out of the truck and get to work. Hewatched the dark smoke plume up into the sky, joining the white grayclouds threatening to open up and unleash the snow at any moment. Itwasn’t long before the orange flames were licking at the building, engulfing it in a way fire could only do to really old buildings.
Deanwasn’t sure how long he stood there, he knew that he had begunshivering slightly before one of the uniformed men walked over to himand handed him an umbrella to keep snow from his body. Dean took itwithout hesitation in one hand, still holding his phone to his chestwith the other one.
“Doyou have anyone to call?” The concered voice drew him out of histrance.
Deanblinked and then looked down at the phone he clutched tightly, thecharger still hanging from it, the base sitting at his feet on thesidewalk where it must have fallen. He looked up as the firefighternot really knowing what he was going to say.
“Youwant to step over to the ambulance with me? We can make sure that youaren’t injured in anyway.” The man raised his eyebrows at him andDean realized that he had been standing there without any responsefor who knew how long.
Henodded, picked up his charging base and allowed himself to be ledover to the ambulance to be checked out. As soon as the EMT took overthe firefighter was gone. Dean was sure that it wasn’t long beforehe had beautiful blue eyes swimming in his vision.
“Dean.Focus on my eyes. Dean. Baby. I need you to look at me.” Cas’voice washed over him. It was like a balm on a hot summer sunburn.Dean blinked.
Deanlooked at Cas, he didn’t remember calling him, and a side of hislips raised up, “Hey, Cas.” He saw a bright color from the sideof his vision and looked at the umbrella sitting upended on thestreet next to the ambulance.
“Dean.”Cas’ voice flooded with relief.
“Ithink I willmovein with you, babe.” Dean’s voice was full of seriousness and Casjust gave him a nervous laugh.
“Yeah.I figured.” Cas wrapped Dean in his arms as the snow continued tofall slowly. Dean knew it would be okay as long as he had Cas.
Enjoy this or any of my other fics? Consider buying me a coffee!
This is the next part of the back and forth head canon fic between @jhoomwrites and myself. We decided to start a new post since the original one is so long. Each new part will be under a cut. So if you’re on mobile hopefully you will be able to see it.
Parts one through seven here.
Dean wakes up with the sun. Bright and way too cheery for his mood as it peaks over the horizon and shines it’s bright light right into his eyes. He rolls over with a groan pressing his nose against the comfortable leather of Baby’s seat.
His brain was more awake than he wanted. It was feeding him all the little tidbits from the night before and he groaned again in disgust over his weakness. Sure everything that he said last night as he prayed to a human Cas was true. It was the first time that he actually spoke them though. Always too afraid, or it was never the right time, to be able to say them to Cas.
Hopefully there were no winged dicks up there listening in to what he was praying about last night. The last thing he needed was one of them to know how he felt about Cas.
Dean shifted a little too fast and his head swam. He carefully laid back down and put his arm over his eyes. “Fuck.” He whispers quietly to Baby. “I’ve not been this hungover in a long time.”
After taking a few deep breaths to calm his stomach. He sits up slowly, grabbing the front seat to help pull him up. He reaches around for his phone finding it behind him. Glancing down at the screen he remembers that it was dead last night when he wanted to check and see if Cas had called him back.
Dean scoffed. Why would he? There would be no reason to call him back. Cas was obviously already occupied with someone else. Dean closed his eyes and winced against the pain that had nothing to do with the throbbing in his head. His stomach gave an angry roll at the idea of Cas with someone else.
“Right. Now where the fuck am?” After opening Baby’s back door and slowly sliding out with careful calculated movements Dean took a few steps away from Baby and relieved his insistent bladder on the side of the dead end. He knew it was early. He could drive back to the bunker and crawl back into bed for a few more hours. Plug his phone in and check it’s messages when he woke up.
He thought about his memory foam and somehow his whole body seemed to scream at him that the bed was the right choice. After finishing up Dean grabbed his phone, stuck it in his pocket and slid into the front seat to make his way back to the bunker.
Dean slipped back into the bunker as quietly as the big metal door would allow and made his way down to his room. He felt someone watching him. He turned to see his brother’s form, stoic and imposing, staring him down.
“You didn’t return last night.” So it wasn’t his brother after all. It was Ezekiel.
“None of your business. Now if you don’t mind I’m going back to bed for a few more hours. And give my brother back control.” Dean snapped and turned his back and continued to his room.
As soon as Dean got to his room he stripped down with quick angry movements, his mood soured further after being confronted with the very reason that he wasn’t allowed to have Cas at home with him.
Too tired and angry to care Dean kicked his pants off, phone sliding under the bed by the wall where the headboard was. He kicked the pants in the general direction of where he kept his hamper for dirty laundry before falling into bed with just his boxers and t-shirt.
When Dean finally woke up, there was a glass of water, a bottle of aspirin and a note on his side table.
“Take the aspirin, drink all the water and get to the library. I think I found something.” -Sam
So that is exactly what Dean did. He found himself showered and out the door ad on the road less than two hours later. Sam had handed him one of his other phones so he hadn’t even thought about the other one.
Cas wakes up early to pains in his stomach. He knows that he will be getting paid the next day, he hopes that he can wait until lunch time to be able to take one item from the breakfast pastries that will hopefully be left over.
He checks his phone in the hope that Dean called him back. He can’t ignore the sinking feeling in his stomach when there is nothing on the screen. Instead he swipes his phone open and turns off the alarm. He figured that he may as well get up for the day. Since he is up earlier than normal he may have a chance to wash his hair in the bathroom sink and do a quick spongebath before he starts his shift.
After opening the store for the morning crowd, Cas finds that the morning flies by. It is time for his break and Nora let’s him pick two of the pastries today. He tries not to think about how it is because she was eyeing him as she stood next to him and heard his stomach growling.
Cas checks his phone as he sits at the small table in the back that is meant for employee brakes. It was already after noon. Surely Dean had already checked his messages by now. Which meant...it meant that Dean didn’t want to call him back.
Dean was done with Cas. He was sure of it. Cas’ finger hovered over the delete contact button as he held back tears. He backed out of the screen and set his phone back on the table. He couldn’t bring himself to delete the only thing he had left of Dean, other than his memories of their one shared night together.
Sitting up straighter Cas finished off his meager meal. He would begin saving up for a place of his own now that he knew for sure that he was on his own. He would have to force himself to forget...to move on.
He could never forget Dean Winchester. That would be forgetting so much of himself.
