I recently discovered the British classic that is “The Two Ronnies”, with their iconic “Four Candles” sketch.

Generally held to be the absolute funniest sketch on any British comedy series ever. (It’s regularly voted as #1 in any public vote)

My family were big fans of The Two Ronnies and I remember watching this with my siblings and parents when it was first broadcast in 1976, and I cannot remember the entire family laughing so hard over anything else we ever watched.

It was written by Ronnie Barker (who plays the customer) and a more deft weaver of words you’d be hard pushed to find.

Not sure how well some of this will translate outside the UK, but that’s not my problem! :)

Tearing up a little bit here, because I just learned that both Ronnie Corbett and Ronnie Barker had four candles at their funerals instead of the customary two.
