Least Favorite Heart Event: 4 hearts with Shane

Keep in mind that have only experienced all the heart events of 2 characters: Shane & Sebastian. I could look up the others but where ia the fun in that? So I chose the least favorite of the both. The reason this is my least favorite is because it is so sad. I know they are trying to show Shane's depressing side & how much he drinks but making Jas cry & see it was a little hard to watch. I know it is realistic but I hate having to go through it.

  Review:

          One of the first things that bothered me about this novel is that the title was kind of misleading; Yes Lena’s peers saw her as a “witch” due to her unnatural abilities, but I think that was also my own fault for not reading the whole synopsis to be honest. I know that you’re not supposed to judge a book by a cover, but in this instance I feel justified in choosing to review this book after only looking at its beautiful cover. I love that Lena’s go to defense mechanism is sarcasm/snark, the one-liners between her, Glenn, and Tristen is one of the best parts of the book. I like the author’s unique take on guardian angels and the devils on your shoulder, the idea that guardian angels need guards was a new concept that I really enjoyed. Although I enjoyed the plot and the storyline, I do think that there were too many characters to keep up with, Glenn’s whole family and all of the guardian angels good and bad were kind of hard to keep up with at times. Overall I loved A Bit Witchy, the witty sarcasm really resonated with me on a personal level. I give this book a four out of five hearts! I recommend this book for a read if you’re currently searching for something in the Young adult/paranormal genre.

  Review:

          First and foremost I would like to apologize to anyone who has read this series for my starting with book five! When I signed up to read and review on Goodreads, I didn’t know it was part of an actual series which is my own fault for not look up the author; Anyways I’m am so glad to have been given the chance to read Valor Zyra is a strong and incredibly badass bounty hunter who landed herself in a positon to pay off a debt (albeit unwillingly); and soon pisses off a slurry of “allies” and one definite enemy. I think I would not have had as much of a problem with reading this book as a stand-alone if I hadn’t felt like I should have already have known who the characters were and their backgrounds ( which I would have if I read the first four books).

          I was left wondering why Zyra owed Murphy in the first place, why Jax helped her, and what Jaxa really had to do with any of this besides <spoiler> Stealing sensitive information from the government and becoming part of an alien space ship</spoiler>. Hendrickson constructs an exciting action-packed adventure that is an engaging, spine-chilling thriller played out on board space ships and planets. Kevis did a great job of showing us her tough exterior that hides tender heart. If you’re not a fan of the Rogue Hunter series after reading this, preferably the first book, you will be. All in all I give Valor (Rogue Hunter #5) a four out of five hearts.

  Review:

            I enjoyed reading Marked , even though I feel it was a good read it was really slow to warm up  for me. Immediately you met Mark and Kate, and it seems kind of like mark is crazy stalking some poor young woman who we late find out is Kate. Kate so fed up with her life tries to kill herself and that is when Mark steps in to “save” her by turning her.  All goes well for the first few chapters, they each have a person they feed from so that they don’t go out and just kill random people; and then Mark decides to take Aimee (Kate) to Paris where is maker Damien, who just so happens to not be all warm and fuzzy towards Mark, lives.    Once they arrive in everything seems fine, and then Damien summons Mark and Aimee to his home; where it would seem I becomes “enamored” with Aimee. Later we find out that they have a lot more history together even more than what Aimee has with Mark. It didn’t even take a second thought for me to be convinced that Damien was bad news, the author wrote his character well with all the serious bad vibes I got just from the description.

            The author did very well with the development of the characters and plot, by the end I just felt so sorry for Aimee and the torture she had to endure at such a young age, only to be reborn again and meet the same abuser she so desperately wanted to get away from. I love that even though, He technically didn’t have her first, Mark was determined to be her only no matter the cost. I found Marked  to be a really great read; All in all I give it 4 out of five hearts.
